    Northern Rock Is Finished

Looks like all the "Sirs" and "Lords" of the British aristocracy running these UK companies don't do any better than their mortal counterparts in other countries :p

DOW 12,550 Goldman, pulled out the last stop

    QQQQ head and shoulders?

Many sectors looking negative, doesn't mean we're in a bear market just yet. Remember this market tends to have the perverse tendency to do the exact opposite of what many consider common sense. I wouldn't count this market out just yet, not before we take out 1350 in the SP500 cash.

Eddie Lampert backs up the truck on Citigroup

Exactly. Eddie may be worth $4bln but in actual reality he's just another idiot that got lucky. Any monkey could reproduce his track record of ~30% annualized net of fees since 1990. (http://money.cnn.com/2006/02/03/news/companies/investorsguide_lampert_stockpicking/index.htm)

IB and incremental increase in Margins

The more rats with naked index puts are leaving the ship the more secure IB becomes as a broker overall. Good news IMO.

    Insight needed badly

Make a business/trading plan, set aside your own capital, get a brokerage account, paper trade until you are comfortable to trade real money. That's how simple it is.
