Which time have you found is the best to set you Ib gateway to restart everyday ? I am after finding best stability, some IB reps is saying sometime during the internal resest times 23:45 - 00:45 ET.. and some say, close to but after for example 1am.. Opinions and experiences ?

You can get around that by creating a custom session, ending 1m before session close then you daily strat will send over just before the close. My assumption is that you use daily bars.

This thread is not meant to argue if IB is better than broker X, its meant to perhaps discuss if other had the same issue or are having similar issues.

My gateways went dead/killed on two separate machines at same time 00:27 et, had to restart when i saw the alarms.. so since it was on two separate machines and two different gateway versions, it cant be local

Imho, if you preferred trading platform allows and if you use LOO or MOO, MOC, LOC go for zero brokers, if long term swing, go for zero.. if you daytrade or use Limit orders, go for payed commission in order to have less risk if getting eaten alive.
