Copying CTA's orders in another account

Only one-CPO. The CTA's clients will see all trades T+1 after they get their nightly sheets. They would only see them live if the CTA pre-trade allocates which is not typical. Most CTAs block trade at a FCM and give the trades up to other FCMs at end of day.

Why would you want to short SPY instead of S&P futures?

Futures are 1256 contracts, so MTM and no wash sales. Your 1099 is just a simple gain or loss.

Why would you want to short SPY instead of S&P futures?

If you do not have a future’s account and do not want one. If the size of the future contract is too big for you. If you have a PMA and want to hedge an SPX option position and want the margin offset.

Need Advice on A Position (Major Loser) Dollar-Cost Average?

This is GE. Did not work out well for those that averaged down, just because it was down.

Need Advice on A Position (Major Loser) Dollar-Cost Average?

My advise is more of a general response. You should only buy shares in the company when you believe it’s a good investment today not because it provides a lower price than your last purchase. You should only keep shares in a company that you’ve purchased in the past whether it’s up or down if...

What is the best exchange to trade forex options on?

I agree except for the term "cross margined". You can't offset ETFs with Futures and reduce margin. E.G. GC future vs GLD. You need to have both margin requirements.

    IB order processing/routing latency

That is my understanding and the Lime division is still operating as before. We can offer accounts now that use Lightspeed-me, but sign up for their ultra low latency offering for hosting and routing. That would require our minimums not theirs.

Dev Time for a FIX based OMS

I can't tell you how long your process will take. I can tell you I have worked with a few experienced programmers that tried to create their own fix server and certify with either Sterling FIX or Realtick FIX. They both ended up taking a lot of development time (Months) and in the end went...
