    $ Silver $

    The theory is that some Chinese trader is still holding a large short position, much like the Chinese trader who got burned shorting copper. Or else it was Warren Buffet who was thought to be part of the shorting crowd (some would say manipulators) and now that he's been forced out of his silver...

    $ Silver $

    The commercial shorts, pulling their bids on the way down.... Desperately trying to cover their shorts.... The silver ETF has drawn some 70 mil oz out of a market that can little afford it. When Joe Public wakes up to the fact that silver is depleting fast and demand is holding steady(ish)...

    Silver, Gold - Multi Year TOP Formed

    Silver warehouse stocks have strangely dropped over the last few days --> http://www.kitco.com/IND/watson/may312006.html Fundamentally this is extremely bullish news but then again, the famous silver shorts have their ways and means. :) I think silver and gold will have another run at the big...

    Gold correction has ended

    The market dipped on the day. You pointed this out to Global Financier... I assumed you're an intra-day trader. After all, he may be right tomorrow.... And I did have a smiley...

    Gold correction has ended

    :) You're clearly not a position trader then.... I think this little dip is a great buying opportunity and that's probably what the funds are doing right now...

    Gold correction has ended

    I agree that we're bouncing off of oversold levels right now and the only way appears to be up from here. However, I think silver is looking like the more likely candidate for faster and better gains... The silver ETF has already taken a lot of physical silver out of the market and this can only...

    Live Cattle Soybeans(meal too) Wheat

    Wheat's hitting record contract highs due to potential drought problems. Buy the rumour, sell the fact. Still has some room to run still and still looking very bullish...

    How volatile is Gold?

    Interesting thing about gold recently is how reliable the Asia:New York trend has been... i.e. what goes up in Asian trade always seems to come down in NY trade and vice-versa... Check it out... So intra-day volatility has been quite wild recently but there's definately some type of...

    Gold is going to correct further, yes or no?

    If China allows the yuan to strengthen more then that will be the biggest pressure... i.e. higher domestic costs = less demand for commodities. It's the China syndrome that drove commodity prices higher in the first place and it will ultimately be the China syndrome that bursts the bubble...

    Gold is going to correct further, yes or no?

    Seth, My 2c... In the next month... Below $650.... 50% Below $600.... 20%

    Gold/silver A Bubble - Yes Says...

    Yup, I'd treat any correction as an opportunity to buy but I can't justify getting into gold at current prices. However, platinum and palladium look in far better position to run still. Problem is that these are less liquid and not led by the masses (ETF buying) as gold and silver now are.

    Gold/silver A Bubble - Yes Says...

    Silver has traditionally tended to lead gold. It is historically far more responsive to supply/demand factors, being much more of a consumable commodity. Therefore in a 'safe' political environment without outside influences, gold has tended to follow silver's lead...

    $ Silver $

    As an ex South African miner I post fairly regularly at http://www.sharechat.co.za - S.Africa has always had a lot of gold bugs and lately they've been wondering why SA gold shares have been lagging as gold has been rocketing... However, there are issues with keeping the local currency strong...

    Commmodities Bubble

    A commodity is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Duh! However, you can't argue with the market or the trend. I find a 49-day moving average trend is great for trading crude. There's plenty of crude floating around but no-one can refine it because no new refineries were built...

    $ Silver $

    I climbed back into silver on thursday as momentum had turned back up and trend is still sharply up. I can't imagine why anyone would rationally want to short the ETF (now trading) at this point in time....? I guess now I'm hoping that some trader in China somewhere spills the beans about...

    $ Silver $

    I'd be interested to hear all your comments on Tom Butler's silver commentary. He's a raging bull and I always thought he was far too one-sided. However, the more I look into silver the more I think he may be onto something i.e. in terms of demand and supply. I think he's a little loony to...

    Crude bounce.....

    OPEC is very good at supporting the price i.e. withhold production but they are useless at capping it i.e. they have very little spare capacity to increase production. The SPR is approaching a record high and oil is still over $70. A while back OPEC thought $60 was a fair price (i.e. read...

    i like gollllllllllllllllld.

    It's also tied to fears of a crash in the USD and /or US economy. Problem is that established gold producers (who've been through the cycle many times before) are using much lower gold prices in their new mine development programs so a lot of their current exploration projects are not...

    Uranium and Coal

    Thanks. I was one of the original founders of www.globalcoal.com - an online marketplace for coal and good reference for international coal prices. Now I work as an energy consultant so coal, crude oil, freight etc. are all right up my street. :)
