Pumper, I do not mean to offend, but I get a notion you might have become way too emotional about the markets. Maybe it has even become an addiction like gambling can become an addition.
IMHO there is a big difference between hoping the markets finally succumb to your own macro economic...
Good luck regrouping, maybe you can slowly inch back into trading at a later point when you feel financially and mentally more comfortable. Even if you only spend an hour adjusting positions each night it can be profitable and keep a door open for you to get back into it fulltime.
I am sure there are always phases where datafeed A is better then B and things go back and forth. If TWS would let me feed 3 feeds into it I'd subscribe to 3 good ones and feed them in and switch between them as I see fit.
I don't understand why they don't open their TWS with a data plugin-architecture so ESignal, DTN etc. can develop data plugins that feed their data into TWS instead of the less reliable IB data. Always good to have options for redundancy.
Excuse me, what exactly can't go on forever? We've been in a sideways range in the SP500 since May 2007. Why are you so sure we will breakout to the downside. Who says we can't break out to the upside, even if it looks impossible right now.
Money management rules that IMPROVE a systems return characteristics ("makes it a winner") are always a red flag IMHO. Risk management should typically reduce returns but at the same time influence volatility parameters positively (i.e. Max. DD decreases, Std. Dev. of returns decreases, etc.)

Not sure what information you base your statement on but I tend to stick with the facts:
Third-quarter growth remains strong thus far and has held above double digits for the past week. The median company has reported growth of 11.1%. The surprise ratio is at 2.73:1 and the median surprise is...
I think here at ET a ES drop of 5 points is regarded as a terrible sell-off. 20 points in the ES is "Black MON/TUE/WED etc." material. 50 ES points is getting you threads like "Did we get nuked?".
