    IB - No Data ?

Maybe the FutureTrade acquisition will yield an open data architecture. Petterfy announced during the last conference call they will release that platform to all IB customers within "2-4 months". But maybe we shouldn't get our hopes up too high.

    IB - No Data ?

What I have always been wondering: Why does IB lock us into _having_ to use their data feed exclusively. Why not open up a plug-in architecture in TWS so I can subscribe to 1-2 additional vendors and switch feeds when needed. Just seems like common sense to me.

    MySpace, Facebook losing popularity......

I don't doubt the application is nice and all. But how on earth are they ever going to make a single dollar with this BS? They won't, because the second they will start running ads on it another "service" will come alone that will happily display no ads at all in order to attract as many...

    MySpace, Facebook losing popularity......

Couldn't agree more this time. Zuckerman is an idiot for not selling this POS ealier. He might go down in history eventually for being too greedy in turbulent times and not selling out while he still could. Then again, that kid is 22 or whatever, he said he's not in it for the money. Whatever...

Greedy? The guy pledged 90% of his net worth to charity. You can call Buffet many names but greedy is not one of them.

Point taken. But what about major banks defaulting and withholding funds from clients. What about consumer spending then?

Fed funds futures suggest 75 basis point rate cut by March 18 now a certainty

Debt markets - in their current state - are far more vital to the stability of the economy than commodities.

Fed funds futures suggest 75 basis point rate cut by March 18 now a certainty

The Fed is simply following the market. 2y is yielding 1.61% currently. I'd say 2.0% Fed Funds is where we're headed by Mid/End of 2008.

To hold it overnight or not

Yes, a very simple one: If you're leveraged > 1 across your account then do not hold overnight _UNLESS_ you hedged yourself with OTM options. Stocks: You are long/short stocks worth more than your account liquidation value. Futures: You are long/short contracts at a value (contract price x point...

Buffet may be overrated and brk.a stock is a bubble

Didn't you run your mouth how "stupid Buffet was to miss AAPL" back in Oct/Nov? I told you the market will find a way to blow you out of the game with maximum pain while Buffet will still be here doing his thing and increasing his market cap over the long haul.

    Buffet: US is in recession

Billionaire Warren Buffett said Monday that the U.S. economy is essentially in a recession even if it hasn't met the technical definition of one yet. Buffett said in an interview with cable network CNBC the reports he gets from the retail businesses his holding company owns show a significant...

    GET THE HELL OUT

I wonder what's more complacent. Panicking ("Stop trading, go all in short, no stops needed") over headlines produced by journalists that have never made a single dollar in the markets or forgetting about Bloomberg and CNBC for just a second and just trading long and short like any other day of...
