Spain to Inject Billions Into Ailing Savings Banks

Thank you and it was a very skimpy explanation, if you could call it that. Well, my friend, it's a bit of a mystery to me, tbh. I am personally a bit long and wrong at the moment. I guess it's either the strength of the global recovery/inflation, some good news in Europe that I am not aware...

Spain to Inject Billions Into Ailing Savings Banks

Well, yes, but the big difference (and a very significant contributor to the creation of the bubble) is the fact that Spain is part of the EMU. Being part of the currency union also constrains the choice of available solutions that the Spaniards can implement ('cause, God forbid, you piss off...

Spain to Inject Billions Into Ailing Savings Banks

The situation in Spain and the origins of its crisis are different, in a variety of significant ways, to the issues in other parts of the world, such as the US. You really shouldn't simplistically conflate all these things.

    $2 Trillion Pension SHORTfall...

All these large numbers are very sensitive to retirement age and discount rate assumptions. As such, they're to be treated with a large grain of salt.

Goldman Sach s are criminals and theives.

Correct... Only question is whether there's a point at which this striving for competitive advantage actually becomes detrimental to the interests of society at large. A good traditional example of this is the monopoly deadweight loss, a subject that's been beaten to death by economists.

+1 Precisely, hence this is a sporadic, statistically insignificant effect. Having watched god knows how many expiries, I have observed it maybe once or twice (if memory serves) .

You mean to say they get it wrong, according to your view, since we've just agreed there's no objective right and wrong in these matters.

anybody plays options on futures? Bloombrg: how to download and organize data?

Well, good luck with all this, is all I can tell you... My point is that, before you can tackle the complexities of processing live data, you'd better have a good idea of how to organise it and store it. I suggest that you start with close data as a way of "dividing and conquering" the task.
