Do you think the markets are nearing a bottom?

??? Too vague. Please elaborate. (You talking about "relevance of candlesticks" or Bull/Bear market??)

Do you think the markets are nearing a bottom?

Reasonable. Could still be a BTFD market... which the market wants to do... or Sell The Rallies... can't tell which for sure.

WSJ: U.S., China Exploring Deal to Ease Trade Tensions

The Chinese have a nearly $1 TRillion annual trade advantage over the US (Odumbo gave it to them, you know... all part of his desire to "send jobs to China and destroy America").... and they want to keep it... or as much of it as possible. Trumpy is trying to "balance that out". All of this...

Do you think the markets are nearing a bottom?

Fair enough. I will stop trying to help you. FWIW... All of my charts are candlesticks. I've used them for so long, they seem the "natural" way to display price charts. However, I don't get ANY useful trading information from "candlestick formations". At best, they may reiterate something a...

Do you think the markets are nearing a bottom?

No, they are not. Unsatisfactory explanation. Candle patterns are not as relevant as the weight you're giving them. (I bought Nisan's book 20 years ago. I'm familiar.)

Do you think the markets are nearing a bottom?

Are you talking about your bottoms line? If so, please explain. (Weekly vs Daily candle is also irrelevant.) I'm trying to help you. Most ETers don't have a clue, and they could use one. But you'll need to explain the relevance of your bottoms line... I don't see it at all. I might have...

Do you think the markets are nearing a bottom?

In your first post, that tops line is relevant. The bottoms line???? In your second post, the channel is relevant. All ETers should be aware of this!

Nov 29, 2018 7:05 AM Germany Doubles Payout To Migrants Who Agree To Leave The Country

"...As unbelievable as it might sound, as it struggled to reduce the destabilizing influx of refugees and migrants flooding into Germany, the coalition government led by Angela Merkel launched a campaign last year offering rejected asylum seekers financial aid if they and their families opt to...

Here is how I viewed trading a couple of years ago...

Likely we cannot predict volatility change. And certainly can't predict a "black swan" event. Most changes in vol are not so "explosive" that we can't cope. But every now and then, there is one. Don't know how we protect against such unless we're hedged all the time. That would be very...

    Calculating Leverage on Futures Contracts

Hey... you can make all kinds of "aggressive, sensible" plays... if you're disciplined about stop losses. If you don't have discipline, likely no amount of leverage is safe.

    Calculating Leverage on Futures Contracts

Leverage is a relative thing. The greater factor you use, the better you need to be about entries and stop discipline. With your "1 NQ/$50k capital", that's ~3:1 leverage. That's actually quite a lot. (I've traded for years and have NEVER had my "total capital" levered even 2:1.... Maybe...

12% + surge in 5 weeks according raymond james. .. hilarious I tell you!

Hmmm... I've had such a thought before myself, only to not have it happen. If it doesn't, what's he gonna do?? Lots of guys in that boat right now. ("I didn't sell in early October, but I surely will if I get another shot at it"... maybe. Change-of-mind is common. Always psychologically...

I am a new trader with under $25,000 looking to day trade, what should I do to start?

When you "trade on a longer time frame", you have to ignore this and that. (The biggest problem is "counters". How do you handle those?) If/when you learn to cope with the same vagaries, your potential goes waaayyyy up while your risk goes waaay down. AND it's applicable to all time frames...

12% + surge in 5 weeks according raymond james. .. hilarious I tell you!

Some are calling for a "year-end rally to sell into". We'll see.

12% + surge in 5 weeks according raymond james. .. hilarious I tell you!

No risk to his making such a call. If you're bullish and wrong, everybody looks past it and all is forgiven*. But if you're bearish and wrong, your job/career is in jeopardy!! *Recall Joey "Bag-of-Donuts"? He said, "I'm bullish. I've always been bullish. I will always be bullish". He...

WOLF VERSUS DOG - Who would win?

My Husky, Maks, once snatched a chunk of Brie off of the counter and raced to the dog door before I could catch him. (Back yard is 1-acre, fenced.) I chased him around as he kept staying away so that I couldn't catch him... until he finally said, "screw it", and wolfed it down... plastic...

Here is how I viewed trading a couple of years ago...

LOL! As a trader, you should actually embrace the notion of a trade war. Volatility, so long as it is not so great/fast that you can't cope, is a good thing. Same signals, bigger moves, more profit opportunity.

    Calculating Leverage on Futures Contracts

Your leverage would be $134,000 / $500... basically 268:1. (Best be trading with a tight stop)
