GTS is correct. My hosts are set up this way for the same reason - a simple security measure. The test is to connect with your browser.

Nothing on TWS when I looked at it 10mins before HSI start. Restarted it. Our nk guys were having some problems. Seems ok now but I'll delay doing anything for a bit to make sure it stays solid. Lunch I think.

You may feel that its a scam now but if you become a trader you will get past that. You will have plenty of experiences that you don't enjoy and if you are in the 10% or less that make it then you will get past them. Good luck.

Decide how much you should make each day. Bank it before hand. If you don't get it then that's how much you are losing. Ignore that :p

SierraChart or Ensign are good charting options to go with IB. Both excellent in their own ways.

My vote is for Interactive Brokers ... but not if you're a beginner who needs hand holding. n00b's in need of help just end up whinging when they don't get it. My only complaint about TWS was the memory footprint ... but cheap memory has solved that problem for me. I use it with Sierra...
