Call ib support (or webchat them). I suspect that both are bad but the demo has much lower standards of connectivity and doesnt "notice" the issue.

Don't trade against the daily trend. Look back at 1929, 1987 etc. Do you see a lower high? Do you see downwards movement before the critical day(s)? Traders love such experiences. Investors discover that they have confused bull markets with brains.

Its a lovely contract to trade and it has the bonus of short hours. The first session is 2 3/4 hours then you get a decent lunch break before a second session of 1 3/4 hours. You don't need long hours to make money (thank heavens).

The nearest thing to QT in price is Sierra Chart. It has excellent high and low level programmability.

Format wins every time. But get a ghosting progam and make a clone of the new image once you've finished. That way you can replace it in 20 minutes if you get a virus or some form of corruption.

I didn't have issues but noted IB's non-support of 1.6. When I redirected TWS to use 1.5 it was faster to load and one issue I hadn't picked up on disappeared. Adding java 1.6 doesnt require you to use it for TWS. I have 1.6 and 1.5 11 and just point the TWS command line at the javaw.exe in...

I think the suspicion is that if its slower to load then it may be doing other things slower. I have no idea ... I changed back simply because IB said they were not supporting 1.6 yet - why tempt fate :)

So true Joab. And so often the event is not what one would predict. IMHO traders need not care (if you do then you are not a trader but an investor in your own ego) as they can trade what they see.

LOL. Scotty, you're as stupid as I thought. Thanks for confirming it. First, this site is Elite Traders not Elite Investors. Second, the idea that other people "not use Stops because I do not find them intuitive" is a laugh. Third, 5-15% stops are a laugh. My stops are set at 0.04%...

IB's demo is not what you normally see with IB .... it is very thin data really only suitable for seeing how TWS works.

He's complaining. He started 2 threads slagging MB in the title. And he revealed that he didnt know the difference between a stop limit and a limit. And, darwin applies here, he blamed MB for filling his limit not realizing he really meant to use a stop order (surely MB should know that!)...

Yes, just tick the data and trading permissions. It's an old woman but can be traded intraday if you want.
