There is a risk that you're confusing correlation with causation. Biggest ego / most obvious ego is strongly correlated with predicting the end of a trend. Perhaps the market just has a higher tendency to trend than to reverse the trend :)

Following on from notouch's comments. 1. There are two other nikkei225s to trade. Lots of people trade the SGXNK which moves in 5pt jumps instead of 10pts and each 5pt is 21 bucks. I thought the big nikkei was 1000 yen and 10 pt ticks = more than 25 bucks. Mini nikkei is 100 yen in 5pt...

With the stoch its really worth understanding the formula and how it gives you the divergence you get. This will help you to understand when and why it might be reliable and unreliable.
