    Zen, Yoga, Meditation and Trading

LOL ... yes ... mystical claptrap to brighten up our charts. and total rubbish. 1. Quantum physics is hardly in its infancy --- unless you believe some of the quacks who write mystical books. 2. How many scientists (and yes, you can get variations in sanity amongst scientists) say that...

    Zen, Yoga, Meditation and Trading

You can understand why Buddha decided to stay away from all this crap. While science (misrepresented here) eats the myths out from under most religions the basic stuff that Buddha said just makes more and more sense.

Anyone move to Australia from the US?

What the f? Not Ice; speed. The answer is its great (throughout metropolitan Australia but probably best from Sydney because most of the cable hubs seem to depart from Sydney so everyone else pays 20-30ms rt to link to sydney). Best trading futures markets for those who wish to work...

    Market Delta by bolter

Please, if you're going to expand on your simpler approach make it a different thread rather than polluting this one with an unnecessary argument. Lumberjack, HM does talk about what he does in some of his earlier posts: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=678846#post678846...

Market Profile -- who needs it?

I don't use it but have watched Bolter use it and he isn't the least bit confused about his actions. He's either right or he stops out. Personally I think that most traders are doomed to long periods of failure and possibly perpetual failure. Whether they achieve it with MP or something...

    Hang Seng and Nikkei futures

I normally trail stoplimits rather than stops so get a slippage of 0 to 1 point as hsi fills and backfills a lot. But if it hits my worst case stop and its in a bad place 3 is not unreasonable and if you go countertrend at a key breakout 20 points is possible. All of them can work Arzoo...

    Anybody using IE 7...

I don't know why that problem's hit you because mine is just fine. I'm running Avant (primary as fastest), IE7, and firefox (backup). All are latest versions and I have no problems at all.

    IE 7 update please help

I'm running Avant (primary as fastest), IE7, and firefox (backup) and have no problems at all. I have previously uninstalled an early version of IE7 and had no, read zero, problems. LOL ... and where the hell does Firefox 2.0 come from ... I'm an Avant fan and even I know that Firefox's...

    Anybody using IE 7...

Interesting. Avant running on IE7 (nice new interface and does seem to have resolved its slowness) doesn't have the vulnerability. It comes up as a pop-up that Avant blocks.

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

Buysell, You miss that there may be two "optimal areas." I used to trade the euro on 5min charts and there was a "this thrust" probable range and a "major thrust" probable range. So, every thrust, I set half my position to exit on reaching the first target. I snugged and trailed stops...

So, is the new IE7 much faster than the early ones? How's the stability?

    Eurex In Asian Times

The trouble with 23 hours a day is that the movement relies on an interested group of traders. So EuroFX trades really well from when the germans awake until a little before the Americans are anticipating news, then again for the US morning. But over the asian session its usually dull as...

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

The trouble with a mathematic proof is that it will be made on top of a lot of assumptions. And none of them will take into account the increased ease with which one can ride Austin's second position if the first one was taken of at a 3:1 profit at the previous high :)

    Does IB allows scalping?

They are bucket shops. They take the other side of your trade so they impose rules in an attempt to prevent certain types of success.

    Anybody using IE 7...

Check out avant (or this other one which im not familiar with). Straight out loading is much much faster. Memory footprint is tighter. Renderings seem (with my poor measurement) to be marginally faster than firefox and much faster than my most recent try at IE7...

    Does IB allows scalping?

The organizations that are "anti-scalping" are generally NOT brokers. They are bucket shops ... that is they are organizations that take the other side of the trade from you. Most of the options for trading forex are bucket shops. The spreadbetters are bucket shops. IB is a real broker...

A question for those who use Ensign for charting and IB for data

No, sorry, I actually only know a lot about a very few issues that concerned me. I havent had anything to do with the adoption of the traditional futures - I figured that would be hard and I'd let other people work through all the issues before I considered trading them through IB. I used...

Beware - critical flaw in IB Ideal Pro

Guys, if we want IB to respond to questions here we have to avoid giving the threads over to those whose entire ET life seems devoted to amplifying (to the ridiculous) any thread that has a problem at IB.

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

Its just that he's wrong. In all of these discussions you can look at the failure mode for a behaviour and feel very wise. Then, if you're around trading long enough, you find there are also success modes - and some are very successful with them. Almost everything works (even elliot wave)...
