    Margin requirements TDameritrade

Many online brokers use their own calculations for futures and options on futures because loading the SPAN files and doing the option calculations is often too hard, and they do not want you to use a high percentage of your margin in your trading. Bob

Closed TOS to add Merrill and also considering Tasty & IB

    Fine Strategy

It’s not important that you know what every strategy is called but you should know cold where you make and lose money. If your expectation is that the stock is range bound until May then will drop, this might work well. It does make you short which is fine as that is what you want.

    Is trading really hard work?

Cooking at home for yourself for 30 min each day is not hard work. Being a full-time chef is. Investing or trading for 30 min a day for yourself (With a full-time job to support you) is not hard work. Depending on trading as a business for 100% of your income with an expectation of making...

looking for a platform or system to trade options automated from email alerts.

This sounds like a VERY bad idea. IMO, retail accounts should execute option order manually so they have an opportunity to view current markets to make better choices and have a process to find liquidity. I never assume the mid-point is a place that is "fair" and poor executions in options can...
