    Inflation to remain well anchored.

This thread (and the 1000 other identical ones) should not be posted in the economics forum, they need to create a conspiracy theories forum here.

    Inflation to remain well anchored.

IIRC, food prices represent around 15% in the CPI basket of goods and services. This is somewhat offset by some 40% worth of declining housing/rental and household item/maintenance costs.

    Inflation to remain well anchored.

Ah treasury yields are manipulated. Sorry, I forgot bond yields have nothing to do with supply and demand.

    Inflation to remain well anchored.

The Fed doesn't forecast that, 10y treasury minus the 10y TIPS yield (=the market) forecasts that. The Fed is just interpreting what the markets forecast.

    Foreign buyers eye U.S. homes

LOL compared to what countries "throughout the world"? Columbia? Cambodia?

    How to define a trend 100 % objectively ?

Not sure how much harder you want it. I use the slope of a simple moving average on commodity futures to define if its in an up- or downtrend. Then I am either long or short. Very simple.

Seth Klarman @ MIT: "On Volatility and Leverage"

Recent market volatility has presented investors with a minefield, and volatility has meant that many weak hands have capitulated and exiting the market, whilst some – especially investors with geared portfolios – have been carried form the market. Against this backdrop, in the article...

    How to define a trend 100 % objectively ?

I use simple moving averages for my commodity trading. Very basic, no voodoo required.

    Anyone with TradingBlox experience?

I use TradingBlox. Good software. Get the full (most expensive) version that is fully programmable. I use it with CSI data. Perfect match.

Attention Non-US Residents: Teach Us The Error of Our Ways

the4xczar, you seem a little paranoid. No need to bash the entire board if you feel your nation isn't getting the respect it should.

Attention Non-US Residents: Teach Us The Error of Our Ways

I don't accuse Americans of much. In fact myself and most other non-Americans don't care much about America because the US does not play the leading role in the world that it used to play. I just wish some Americans stopped saying how "jealous the whole world is" of their superior country. I...

Attention Non-US Residents: Teach Us The Error of Our Ways

Most of the Germans buying up real estate in sunny FL are not permanent migrants - they are 55/60 year old (semi-)retired winter birds taking advantage of an imploding USD and sharply lower Florida real estate prices. To think these people would love to permanently live in the US instead of...

Attention Non-US Residents: Teach Us The Error of Our Ways

I gave you reasons why most people from the developed world aren't jealous of the US whatsoever and don't care much about the US as a destination for migration; it has just become a much less desirable "dream country" over the last couple of decades. Other countries have caught up and designed...

Attention Non-US Residents: Teach Us The Error of Our Ways

Not sure what any developed country would be jealous of? While in the (post-WW2) 50s Europeans left in droves for the US in hopes for a better and safer life, I don't see that happening these days. Don't misunderstand me, I loved the US as a semi-tourist having lived in Arizona for a while...

    This Market Sucks!!!

I would bet more traders blow up every month in 'playing' options trying to make 10% monthly than traders dedicated to shorting equities without leverage.

So how do all the "pro's" feel about not watching CNBC?

Only amateurs hope to gain an edge from listening to people talk the market on TV. "CNBC is useful" != "CNBC gives me an edge trading"

    This Market Sucks!!!

I'm with Landis, you have no idea what you're talking about, you just copy & paste stuff you read in articles or elsewhere "the Fed is printing money 24/7", "the Fed doesn't want a bear market, short every rally". It does never get old does it? But instead of bashing you, I will ask you a...

Ok how long till someone posts how 'manipulated' markets are. Can't wait.

    ABK, worthwhile investment?

So was Enron. Not sure why anyone would want to touch a stock that's down 90%.
