Tons of Great Buys Right Now - and the Economy (in the U.S.) sucks

Yea I am confused too?! Weren't we better off unloading all longs and go all in short just in the beginning of March and then 'buying them back much much cheaper a couple months later'??? http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=119379

Warren Buffet wall to wall CNBC. Guy is a jerk.

I guess they have to give Buffet extra airtime as Rogers has probably not been returning their phone calls recently :p

Options signalling massive 'Suckers Rally' in SP500

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aEYEvRxb_w04&refer=home a) What's not to like with low volume suckers rallies? :D b) I find it interesting that journalists fail to understand that willingness of investors to pay premium for index put exposure can work as a cushion for...

Deutsche Telekom May Bid for Sprint Nextel

Have the system - need the capital ! Looking for a fund or job

Leeb, your best bet is to try attract capital from people you know (friends and family). Go approach each and everyone you know. Explain risks and potential rewards to them and get them to agree to a e.g. 1 year lock up of their capital. If you don't disappoint them you can garner capital via...

    Euro Getting Crushed Today

Also, our commodity bulls are getting their head handed once again today. Wheat, Beans and exotics getting smacked. Remarkable, given the fact that in the mind of the paranoid gold bugs the Fed is printing money 24/7 worse than ever in 2008 - deflating the Dollar and inflating commodities.

Ben Bernanke: Someone pay him to go & study the Great Depression or do anything else

Free markets like in 1930? When banks put 'On vacation' signs on their doors and just closed down so people can't withdraw their deposits for months on end? We all believe in free markets. In a deflationary collapse there is no market to speak of anymore though :(

    Thoughts about Airlines...at a bottom...discuss...

Is there any benefit to owning an Airline as a synthetic oil put rather than owning an outright crude oil future put? I can't think of one, not with the Airlines losing money if crude stays where it is (just like the a put would lose time premium).

    Slippage on Ag contracts

What size are you looking to trade? AG by nature is thinner than bond or the big index futures. If you're looking to move <10 contracts in KC/CC/SB/CT for swing trading then it's usually easy enough to get your entry without too much slippage. Here is a table so you get an idea of market depth...

Do we have a trend in place, I just don't see one

Make sure you always remember this lesson. 9 out of 10 times adding to a loser will work out fine and you get out with a feeling you got away with murder. But the one time comes - sooner or later - that makes you regret you ever started playing the game. Increasing your position is fine, just...

Ben Bernanke: Someone pay him to go & study the Great Depression or do anything else

The Fed is not involved in US Dollar policy making. Congress has passed that mandate to the US Treasury (read: Paulson). It's not Bernankes job to micro-manage exchange rates.

Ben Bernanke: Someone pay him to go & study the Great Depression or do anything else

Did Bernanke write the check for $1tln for the invasion of Iraq? Did Bernanke force US citizens to abuse their house as an ATM? Did Bernanke cut taxes in 2001/2002 completely blowing the US budget out of whack?

Guess The Gold Bottom... I'm saying 850

Ah there is no doubt. Must be the first time in the history of financial markets there's absolutely no doubt about the future direction of a market!
