You can see with the Pro version of the tools it's easy to create profitable systems. It does not just work for bonds there are many intermarket relationships which are trad-able , including some for forex.

Yes, it's really important that you have at least one bear and one bull market in your data set. I would say 10 years is required. I use 10-15 years of data even on my intra-day strategies.
