Simple sell rules to protect against disaster in financial markets

Oops you lost me. I have no idea what "delta" is or how I measure it. It's all greek to me :) I don't quite follow that if getting out/staying in cash offers a reasonable degree of usefulness how does that differ from a stop?

Simple sell rules to protect against disaster in financial markets

So as I asked before, what do you suggest? Maybe we are looking at stops differently. I'm not advocating having a hard stop in the market. My process is to have a stop written down in the trading plan that when crossed requires some action. I wait for the bar in my time frame to close and place...

Simple sell rules to protect against disaster in financial markets

What do you suggest? HODL? I use stops. You can cherry pick examples where they were detrimental but you can also find examples of where they save you a lot of money.

Are we going to continue to climb the wall of worry or are we on our way to a quick slide down the slope of hope.

The Grinch Who Crashed Wall Street... Santa Selloff

The thing is when the bubble burst in the tech wreck, in 2008 and in 2020, there was plenty of warning. I know the tech wreck changed me from an investor to a trader. 2008 and 2020 I just sat in cash and watched as the market tanked. Pay attention to what the market tells you, not what you want...

That's the trouble with Fundamentals. They give you a bias that may cause you to ignore what the charts are telling you. There are time I think less information is better than more.

I'm questioning why Friday after market? Why not Monday premarket or Monday after the market opens. Would that not be less risky?

    Market observations and actions

Couldn't agree more. I have very strict exit rules both for stops and profits. I'm beginning to question how I take profits. Up until a while ago I was taking profits on the way down. Now I'm experiment with taking part of the position off when I hit a target on the way up.

Why buy in the aftermarket on a Friday? FOMO? All sorts of shit could happen over the weekend.

tips for become a good trader?

You are trading a much faster time frame than I do. So your best and worst trades were on Fed days. I can see that. Back when I day traded ES it was always a gamble, the swings right after the announcement were wild to say the least. Right now I'm playing with profit exits. Trying to figure...

Does praying to Jesus help with trading?

That's not the way God works. When I was a kid I prayed and prayed for a bike at Christmas. Christmas came and I didn't get a bike. I then realized that wasn't the way prayer worked. So I stole a bike and prayed for forgiveness.

who are we playing against as retail traders?

No offence taken. If you look closely you'll see that some pro's have tried to help you. It's just not the help you think you want at this time. Experience talking. Years ago people, books and other traders would give me advice and I just ignored it because I was sure it didn't apply to me...

Can you beat someone who religiously buy and hold bitcoin from inception with trading?

There was really nothing new or rather nothing I wasn't aware of. I'm playing in a fixed game. But I'm a little player and no one notices me winning a few small hands. As long as I don't take the bait when someone offers me a no lose deal then I'll continue muddling along making a fairly decent...
