Do you keep a credit card ? Or only a debit ?

Probably either/both. (You thought maybe I don't know what an installment loan is?)

Do you keep a credit card ? Or only a debit ?

I recently got a note about my FICO score. Said, "It could be higher if we could find any evidence of repaying installment loans." :)

Do you keep a credit card ? Or only a debit ?

Yes. No real advantages to debit cards, but there are some disadvantages.

Gates Foundation Teams Up With Vaccine Maker to Produce $3 Covid-19 Shots

Gates is Soros's mini-me. Any vaccine thingy he's involved in is "no bueno"!

WE WOULD RATHER DO BUSINESS WITH PRESIDENT OBAMA, HILLARY CLINTON, NANCY PELOSI, HARRY REID, ALL THE ELITES OF CONGRESS, THE MASS MEDIA, AND ALL OF HOLLYWOOD THAN WITH ONE CONSERVATIVE AMERICAN!!! This sign was prominently displayed in the window of a business in Whiting, Indiana. You are...

    Problem with Dell T3500 Workstation

A T5810 will be fine. (HP and Lenovo have equivalents, but Dell's are almost always lower priced.) Suggest CPU of Xeon E5-1620v3 or better as a minimum*. 8GB of RAM may be enough (is for my trading rig) or 16GB if you prefer. SSD, of course... adequate video card(s) for your monitors. You...

    Problem with Dell T3500 Workstation

All the one's I've seen use the common CR2032 lithium coin battery. $2 or less, available everywhere. Amazed simply replacing the battery might fix your problem? As I said earlier... when the mobo battery gets close to drained, the computer can act squirrely. Not sure replacing the battery...

    Unemployment Rate and Non-Farm Payrolls

"Big Number" and Fed days are usually volatile at least initially... even when the news is merely, "no change" or "as expected".

Where do you place your limit order for opts?

Mostly a guess. If you place your bid mid-way, you may get filled sometimes..... but in reality, most of the time you get filled when your limit bid has become the market's ask. When it comes to fills, better to trade issues with tighter spread.

IB raised NG margins to ridiculous levels!

IB is known for raising margins when risk/volatility perceived as "heightened". That's good for the safety of customer money as well as IB's.

    Hedging the S&P500

Only 1 real choice... buying puts on SPY(?). You could perhaps buy something you think will go up as the SP goes down, but I don't know what that would be. (Gold?) Everything else merely locks in your present price, more-or-less. Might as well go to cash as that.

    Thoughts on JETS? (Airline ETF)

In the mean time.... if there is a "2nd wave" of C19, airlines could get pummeled even lower... before "eventual" recovery, hopefully. The major airlines' charts (UAL, DAL, LUV) all look like JETS. Maybe a good idea to keep an eye on this group for the future.

Do wash sales only matter if you are net negative on the year?

Scenario.... End of year... trader makes a BIG play, takes a loss, rebuys the same security within 30 days and it's again a loser and sells before Dec 31 = wash sale disallowance. Then, discouraged trader quits trading/investing and so never makes a capital gain equal to his disallowed...

How to select a protective put....

But your consideration of "should I buy a protective put and at what strike"?... has nothing to do with that. The put is all about protecting your $30,000 capital investment.

    Trading Chairs

For the value conscious, I suggest the Herman Miller Equa. You can find them used for ~$200-ish, some with warranty. Best trading chair I ever owned (Mine is >10 years old... a little wear on the seat, but otherwise still perfect... cylinder replacements ~$40.). When the chair first came out...
