More people lost money waiting for correction

I was shocked at my pnl when I studied it in December. When in the weeds it was actually slow and steady with some big years and no down years.

Many trade because they cannot suffer the drawdowns of a buy and hold. For example : a pension fund has to earn 6percent a year to cover their pension liability. If they don’t earn 6percent one year, the company has to put that money into the fund. If you can outperform the market year in...

More people lost money waiting for correction

I disagree with the statement if you can’t Beat Buy and hold you shouldn’t be trading. Outside of quasi arbs and some seriously capital constrained strategies it’s hard to beat the market every year. That’s why so few do it.

Here specifically opportunity is being long the market vs waiting for a down swing to enter at a lower price. it doesn’t apply to speculation. if you like an investment buy it now instead of waiting for a time that the price might drop. NYC real estate is down a lot - it’s still higher from...

Bloomberg Foresees Bitcoin Rallying to $400K This Year

cant the same argument be made for stocks like Amazon (which for decades showed no profit) and for now show no signs of paying a dividend.

Bloomberg Foresees Bitcoin Rallying to $400K This Year

I’m not a bitcoin fan but I disagree that bitcoin is a zero sum game. It went from zero to a positive value - that’s real wealth creation, similar to amazon stock. (I understand the exp3ction of future cash flows, etc that justify a stock price and don’t apply to bitcoin)

    Covered Calls Funds

Many covered call funds are scammy. They seek to pay a certain cash flow yield and then things get dry start dipping into the capital base to keep the yield up. You are better doing the portfolios on your own.
