If you review my trades, you'll see that I got back in more than once UNTIL price found support at the 20-bar EMA. Since I was counter-trend trading off a new high, support at the 20 means trend-followers should push price to retest the high. My best options at that point were to go long or take...

Those scratch trades cost me net $12, but if I left my initial stop in on my first scratch trade instead of locking to b/e when it moved 8 ticks my way, I would've had a $75 dent to my profits right there, and the second scratch trade with initial stop in place would've cost me $105. My $230...

Please comment on my day trading plan

I personally never trade news/rumor-based breakouts. For one thing all the traders with real-time news feed already have a jump on the action and I always feel that I'd simply be chasing. The breakouts I trade are when price runs hard off the open, pauses or pulls back a bit, then starts...

The setups look good to me too. It's one of those days where retail was just too strong to provide a decent retrace of the move.

With The Perfect Job Report Could Bears Even Hope To Score?

With the current buying frenzy afoot, the net return probably beats a savings account!

    Trader P/L 2010

+$695 Shorted ES @ 1179.00 a few minutes after the close yesterday. At first was looking for a couple pts, but price just kept drifting down thru the evening, so I set an overnight target of 1171.75 (next support zone to be tested) and trailed a 3 pt stop, which was hit around 3am my time...

OK, done with CL for today (+$417), and my blotter today demonstrates that yes I jump back in until I get something, damn it! :p

Can one of you please grab the rest of my money off the table I left it on? And here I thought I had pretty good reaction time, but was really taken aback by how quickly it went from .56 (where I was about to move my target lower) to .42!

Holy Mary, mother of God, limit @ .43 lifted before I could move it! Which looks not so bad after all.

And one more and I'm taking a break because the only winner here is IB. (There should be a massive move now one way or the other.)

No, I covered @ 1171.75 when it pivoted off the channel overshoot.

I'm having a time shaking my old "no trades after 11:30" rule, plus I'm all protective of my profits, hesitated to take 2 solid short setups. Aaarrghhh.

    ES Journal Archive (2009 - 2010)

That's a classic tactic. That's why I set myself a "no trades after 11:30am" rule a while back, I was losing money during that time when setups kept failing...
