    There are no real absolutes but the political climate is defined by those who would voice such extremes which cause heavy alienation of not the other side but the moderates who are disgusted by the lot of them. The corruptibility and abuse of power is another issue.

    Then it was easy to make money, you didn't need to know much...now you need skills and discipline, bull market not-with-standing. Of course I'm referring to trading and not managing a portfolio or what your IRA looks like.

    Everybody was making money. Cab drivers were trading on laptops between fares. Waiters gave hot stock tips. It was so easy that you knew that something was not right.
