Develop and follow a written trading plan

That doesn't mean there isn't a plan or rules...one would either have to be a savant or a fool to trade without them, it's just that the market is ever changing and there is an interpretive element in discretionary trading.

Develop and follow a written trading plan

I mentored a fellow. He didn't ask nor did I offer but a few questions evolved into a months long project. I gave him my trade plan along with charts and many examples but he would pose a lot of hypothetical questions..."what do you do if bla bla bla.." I kept telling him that each moment in the...

Tell me about stop and reverse strategies

Parabolic SAR is slow on the entry and slow on the exit. I don't use stop and reverse but if I did, it would likely be for range trading, otherwise you are in the trend top and bottom picking biz...tough way to go. And what may appear to be a top or bottom is more likely to be some form of...

Beyond Ninjatrader Brokerage - is IB the only broker offering Ninja? Any other options with Ninja?

8 is a terrific platform but I still use 7 as I am so used to it and prefer the look of the DOM and the printing functions. Currently I have no reason to switch although I did open an AMP account during the Mirus/Zenfire snafu a couple years ago....yes futures.

Going broke in margin acct. and owing money

Yes, they will get a judgement which will follow you around and attach assets if and when they appear. BK is the only way out of that trap....or changing your name and moving to Uzbekistan.

Ninja is just the IB for Dorman. I've used them through both Mirus and Ninja as the IB and the only problem was when Mirus wet the bed trying unsuccessfully to clone Zenfire platform in December of 2015. So it is Dorman who clears, holds the funds and sends you your statements.

Do Day Traders Rationally Learn About Their Ability?

I think the point LL and Zela were making is day trading tends to attract people lacking in discipline, work ethic and realistic expectations (as might gambling forays)which would doom any attempting to day trade for a living. As far as the "95% Fail", no one knows what the number is...
