It's nearly impossible to "empty the mind". Simply sit and give no energy to any thoughts that pass. Focus on breath and calm, with practice the mind becomes calmer and more focused over time. Day trading requires one to be in the moment-recognize the signal and trade the plan- not fretting...

"....never let a profit turn into a loss" That is really not applicable to a day trader. I average around 55-56% wins but a good 90% of those start out with positive ticks. In order to not let a profit turn into a loss, I would have to take many small profits and the numbers would not work but...

I day trade one concept...the trend pullback. As "trends" can be in conflict within my three time frames (intraday), I prefer the term momentum impulse, as there are variations of these based on which tf they setup and have respective variations of filters and qualifiers. I get plenty of signals...
