Thanks for pointing that out. That means he just wants to pay the joining fee and shares profits from then on. That sounds ridiculous. A good trader would find a way to raise the joining fee and keep his own share of the profit instead of suffering a double split.

A demo account has its place, but staying on demo for too long could be counterproductive. In the last analysis, a demo account is limited in what it can teach you. If you want to learn how to trade, i advice you open a micro account and trade with little money.
