My stat sheet says 255.3 million shares outstanding, but I can't find info on current cash, just year ending 2009. Here's the crazy market (which I know is always right): You have AMZN trading at a P/E of 53 and a quick ratio of about 1.0, with 2010 earnings projected to be 2.93 and 2011...

    A 70k bet that I can't make a 50% gain in 2009

Cautionary tale against moving stops/targets. Shorted 600 AMZN @ 118.48 off the pullback from a failed break through previous resistance (2:47pm) with a 118.70 stop and 117.70 target. Moved .30 my way and I moved my stop to b/e. Stopped out b/e and the late day choppy price action after that...

Trading The Same Stock Every Single Day

If you wanted to swing a position during the week, you're protected against the morning gap if you have a stop in place.

No, the market is not wrong and the chart looks like crap. Chinese gaming stocks have fallen out of favor. However, if you compare SNDA and PWRD, PWRD is the fundamental leader. SNDA is not growing earnings; PWRD is, and their earnings and projected earnings exceed SNDA, yet their stock is...

I can't find anything fundamentally wrong with this company and there appears to be some serious blood running in the streets of Perfect World. The fundamentals are quite solid as far as I can tell. Looking to buy unless someone can provide a sound reason not to. This is not a day trade...

    Hard Stops vs Mental Stops

Can anyone (such as market makers, pit traders, etc) tell if stop orders in place are intended to open or close positions? For example, if I have a buy stop for 5 crude oil contracts at the high of the day with the intention of opening a new long position and capturing the breakout move, and...

Taking 410K to 4million by Year End 2010

A tip for fading strong moves is to wait a day or two. The day of the news rarely produces good fading opportunities, but the day or two after usually has a decent pullback, profit-taking on moves up and the dead cat bounce on moves down.

NLY was ex-dividend today, so the price was off by that amount, I think. This is one of my very few long term holdings. Gotta love that 15% div

    where can Money be made?

Are you living in an alternate universe? CL broke out today and moved over $1100 (per contract) in 5 minutes. These kinds of moves are actually pretty common in oil.

    Passage to $1 Million

I sent you a PM explaining why you'll fail as a trader. Read it carefully several times before you go any further. My words will save your trading life, I promise. (Sorry the mean people got to me again...) Smiles, I also feel a low has been put in for now, barring any major adverse...

You are absolutely correct and that's why I trade smaller now than I was during the pre- and post-"crash" volatility. However, biotech news happens far more often than one country nuking another. At least for now...

Actually, I trade small size looking for larger moves. Not scalping (to my detriment lately, leaving good profits to b/e constantly). Anyhow my risk is tiny at this point.

    CL Redux

Hey Cher! Good to see you're still kicking. When practicing in sim, I found slippage on stop entries bad with CL until EON_Kid advised me to place orders a tick or two inside the breakout level. No problems with slippage when doing that live and I've done it quite a few times lately.

Still biotechs always run the risk of an adverse news event driving the price into the toilet, even after an approval of a drug. Seems like MUCH safer ways to be long than naked puts. IMHO.
