I had better contribute something to my thread....I haven't resumed watching al brooks's videos, been busy trading and making some dosh. I want to point out that if anyone is expecting a detailed report on what exactly i have learned from his course, they will be disappointed. Atm, i can say...

sold some canadian dollar futures at 7488, hard stop 7530. don't understand why they haven't sold off much in response to weaker commodity prices. maybe because oil is at or approaching support levels in its current range? anyway, small position, will add if crude breaks support.

Collection of the most stupid trading advice ever

Disregarding the big swing and trying to jump in and out was fatal to me. Nobody can catch all the fluctuations. In a bull market your game is to buy and hold until you believe that the bull market is near its end. To do this you must study general conditions and not tips or special factors...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

yeah, it's a conundrum, ain't it? we all think we can trade all the little swings, make a net profit, feel good, and then comes along the realisation we just had to sell and hold for the big swing and make multiples of what was made trading the little swings.

Collection of the most stupid trading advice ever

Have to strongly disagree with this bit, surf. I have another 'business', unrelated to trading, which has a defined mathematical edge. No question about it. If i keep doing it, i make money over the long run. Yet in the interim period, I still have losses and drawdowns, which can be hefty, and...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

nb: the oil, nikkei and russell positions were all done in small size...the copper one is 2x bigger in size, but it was a mistake in that it should have been 5x the size

Collection of the most stupid trading advice ever

i would disagree that this is bad advice. I'm unsure of what regression therapy is, but certainly 'mental' therapy of some sort has been used by many notable traders to improve performance. PTJ used to have a full time psychologist in his firm (might still do) to help traders.
