Why does TA not work (for you)?

Did you just make up the part about the results being no different than "randomness"? Where did WRB say that?

Surfer, aren't you going to acknowledge WRB's post? http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=247024&perpage=6&pagenumber=111

Why does TA not work (for you)?

Hilarious! (yet completely predictable) :D :D I remember that TraderZones guy, what a prick!

Why does TA not work (for you)?

This is the problem with certain people. No matter what you would be willing to provide, it will never be enough. A brokerage statement....it must be photo shopped. A P&L screenshot from the day....also photo shopped. A few live trades....oh those were lucky.....some more good trades.....try and...

Why does TA not work (for you)?

You just said yesterday that your magical price drive system doesn't use quantifiable exits. You said it all depends on the trader to determine when/where to exit. "You can quantify exits based on your own criteria--- ie-- how much you are willing to lose/win--- I can't do that for you-- so...

Why does TA not work (for you)?

Logicman, there is no sense, well, being logical here with regards to how you trade. Some people are just too set in their ways and are too scarred from past unsuccessful experiences that they would rather keep wool over their eyes than be proven incorrect. For some, this would be too much to bear.

Why does TA not work (for you)?

But you never created a system that worked consistently using TA. So how "well versed" are you really?

Why does TA not work (for you)?

If that were true (for me), I'm sure I would have quit trading 12 years ago!

Why does TA not work (for you)?

You are obsessed with random entries. Why?
  11. R

Why does TA not work (for you)?

Yeah, it sounds entirely like how I trade. All entries are 100% objective and non random and, depending on ones goals (mine in this case since I don't lease my signals), the exits can vary and do. Summertime trading I exit more quickly when I perceive volatility to be low.

Why does TA not work (for you)?

I thought you were only interested in quantifiable methods?? Subjective exits do not seem to fit this mold.

Why does TA not work (for you)?

Why do you insist on calling entries for TA trading "random"? My entries are entirely OBJECTIVE and NON RANDOM. My exits can be either, and this is where experience and an understanding of volatility come into play.

Why does TA not work (for you)?

It's easy to be wound down once you've been caught arguing strongly for something that is immediately disproven. :p http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=247024&perpage=6&pagenumber=83 Who's angry? I'm just trying to help Surf out. :)

Why does TA not work (for you)?

Very interested. What time? I always want to hear the opinions and perspectives of those who know very little about a given subject.

Why does TA not work (for you)?

Wooptie do, one trade in 1990 and you are an expert. You may be very experienced on the periphery of financial mkts but that doesn't mean you understand trading.

Why does TA not work (for you)?

Surf, you haven't daytraded in 7 years and you don't even trade full time! Stop embarrassing yourself and just admit that, PERHAPS, there are things that you do not know or understand. I know very little about swing trading so I never talk about it. It's a good rule for all to follow.
  18. R

I don't need to trade anymore because I'm about to get $7.5M

Guy, this is a very OLD type of scam. Why are you posting this in TRADING of all places?

Why does TA not work (for you)?

He's definitely not stupid, but he's arrogant and ignorant (about this particular topic)....a deadly combination :D I'm sure he excels in his area(s) of expertise. But when he ventures into day trading discussions, he becomes a fish out of water.

Why does TA not work (for you)?

Hopefully they are thinking (if they are daytraders) that it's probably not wise to listen to a guy who hasn't daytraded in 7 years but thinks he knows everything there is to know about it :D
