    Why TA does not work

How can "never" being able to replicate an edge lead you to have to "deep knowledge". I would say it's the opposite. Your inability to find something that works consistently, after 22 years in the mkts, suggests your knowledge isn't very deep at all.

Really? " Every entry will have strong odds of success and a huge positive expectancy" http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=247038 Sounds like bragging to me.

    Why TA does not work

Why does a marketer claim to know so much about trading, rather what is or isn't possible in the realm of trading? I don't go on marketers forums and argue with those in marketing :D

    Why TA does not work

Yes, thanks, I would. If something ain't broke, I don't try to fix it. This has worked for me for over 12 years so I'm going to continue to rely fully on my own funds.

    Why TA does not work

Plenty of confidence, absolutely zero incentive. It's called analyzing a trade and passing on it because it provides you zero upside.

Did he cover yet? He acknowledged the price driver failure but I'm not sure if he actually said he exited and or at what price.

I have a fellow trader friend in Florida who trades the ES and his method is so amazingly complex that when he talks about it, I just cannot focus on all the details. Yet he knows it all like the back of his hand. Fortunately I don't have to trade his method! :)

Not me, I agree with you on this. I did some reading in the very beginning, but realized early on that I'd be better off studying PA and relationships on my own and not getting bogged down with any preconceived notions from these "authors".

Trading books are mostly a waste of time. Stick with what you are doing; for consistently making money trading trumps whatever these so called book writing "experts" have to talk about. Remember, these writers have an agenda....to make money selling their books! :)

I don't think his comment was about taking a loss, but more about the very basics of knowing when major mkt moving news is about to hit the stock one is trading. When I'm trading the SPY, occasionally I'll get a trade setup 15 mins or so before a FED announcement and I'll bypass the trade...

Yup, it's basic trading 101. But perhaps the price drivers were aware of this and he just interpreted the numbers wrong...again :)

Capital is not an issue, I have more than enough in my account to cover my trading. Been doing this for a while so I'm pretty sure I know what I can and cannot handle. As far as credibility, I'm not concerned with that at all. I post here because it's something to do between trade setups. I...

The combine thing seems like a good idea for noobs or those looking for access to more trading capital. If one doesn't fit into those criteria, then I don't see the point. EOM

Then no sense in posting this one at all. If you hold others to this standard, it seems that it's only appropriate for you to do the same?

Good lesson here....don't enter a combine if you can't commit to it fully.
