How is this for a strategy since 95% of tradres loose

This suggests that you used a let your losers run, take your profits quickly strategy ... assuming that your customers were using stops and stopping out. Was that the case?

How much should one make to prove himself a good daytrader?

I'm with Dustin on the numbers. But a simpler version is that you are a good day trader if you can consistently make more than you require when you only trade 100 days a year. IMHO, if you can do that then the money and lifestyle is sorted.

Why am i better at day trading?

Day trading can be better because you have many more opportunities to take a risk. Also specialization can make you more effective (trading one or two contracts only). The downside is that the speed of response required will increase any discipline or psychological issues immensely.

    Is China crashing?

Unless the bulls are bullish because asia keeps going up. Certainly there is a strong case for that in Aus. A more likely down scenario is softening of US/Eur demand for goods = loss of demand for china = loss of demand for minerals = a large shorting opportunity. Or "everyone starts to...

    If you could live anywhere

There is a lot of comfort in being part of and contributing to a village. Its one path in life that may or may not lead to an inability to see value and joy in other paths.

    If you could live anywhere

Re the Manilla. My daughters friend lives in Australia because her Mother left M after her husband was shot --- in a nice street as he walked down the road. Its Asia with US American gun controls and a bit of extra excitability (the Spanish heritage?).

    The market is so logical

Yes, now our language is closer to meaning the same things. One clarification: although I don't know exactly when one of trade XX is coming along I do know that I will almost certainly see at least 2 of them each day. So I have quite a lot of foreknowledge ... just not certainty. The other...

    The market is so logical

Its the purely that I have an issue with - that implies a very high degree of uncertainty. You can know the probability that it will move a certain amount and, over a long enough series, how often the event is going to happen. I have trades that work more than 80% of the time (defining...

    The market is so logical

Taken in the specific the markets can be anything but random. Many of us rely on this - just as one could rely on the cards in a blackjack deck.

possible to use "market profile" to trade options?

I have read material of Piper's where he used MP indicated extremes to enter option positions. But the more important questions might be: - what does MP tell you that could be useful for trading? - what do option trades require that might benefit from the MP information?

Discretionary = Gambling unless you're Enlightened or Investing?

Either: All trading is gambling (taking risk for potential profit). or Only unprofessional trading is gambling (taking risk for thrill). Discretionary, System, Long Term --- doesn't matter.

    Holy Hang Seng, Batman!

It wasn't a terribly big day for the Hang Seng and HSI has been pretty weak recently compared with the US indexes. Are we confusing the HSI with the Shanghai index?

possible to use "market profile" to trade options?

Some people do. In fact I seem to recall and english trading writer who did --- John Piper.

    Define Dip

You have to find dips that work for the market you face and its current conditions. Maybe it has to reach an ema. Maybe it has to push a stoch to a certain level. Maybe the price action has to look like xxxx. Maybe you have some volume conditions in it. Only your own definition can be...

What else to watch with crude?

It seems that in trading there is a desire for certainty ... as opposed to acceptance that each trade is a probabilistic event. Volume, bid/ask volume, internals, another index. Or just trade?

What trading style is better...slow and steady..or hitting homeruns once in a while?

A high win rate with smaller wins and less variation is better (if the expectancy is the same). Thats because a lower standard deviation translates into a lower risk of ruin. And with a lower risk of ruin you can bet bigger = win bigger. From a human perspective the high winrate lower...
