You want the run time environment as the minimum package that will support TWS etc Java Runtime Environment (JRE)

Sierra Chart is also cheap as chips and works very well with IB.

Sounds like something is utterly fucked on your machine. 1.6 is faster than 1.5.x

Interesting dcraig, the author agrees with you and doesn't recommend that any items other than cd/dvd burners are put at real time. I might wind tws and zlt back to high and see how that impacts anything.
