    DSL Inferior to Cable?

I have been using Comcast High Speed Cable with pretty good success. From my experience, if you suffer from a lot of drops, it is most likely your cable modem that is on its way out. They are refurbished units from Motorola and RCA and are literal throw-aways after a year or so . . . just...

    Super Strong Volume Today 08-28-08

Agreed. Aside from some ETF's in the energy sector like the UNG ( traded 31 million shares or 6 times its normal volume ), overall volume on the NYSE and in the DJI was anemic at best. Quite typical of a Holiday Week. :)

    urgent trading message re:hurricanes

No one had even posted one single thread about the upcoming tropical storm activity this season. I thought that I would get the ball rolling with TS Gustav. Given the absurd replies on the thread of people cracking "FEMA jokes" . . . it's clear that it really isn't worth even discussing...

    urgent trading message re:hurricanes

The HIGH that is currently over Florida has kept Gustavo tracking towards the West-Northwest. If it gets out into open water, it could intensify very quickly - - - especially if there is no "wind-shear" in the upper atmosphere.

    urgent trading message re:hurricanes

Who says that it is NOT a "story" just yet? The morning newspaper that you read? The markets have obviously been trading off of potential Hurricane activity for the ENTIRE WEEK! You just don't realize it. :(

    urgent trading message re:hurricanes

Leave it to you to rely on reading the "morning" paper for your info. Duh . . . the energy sector is getting CRUSHED today!!! Have you taken a look at a Natural Gas quote today? Try DOWN 9%. The reason being, is that the energy markets had been moving UP ALL WEEK LONG in anticipation...

You've never heard of the National Hurricane Center? They post several "observations" per day on a specific schedule.

    urgent trading message re:hurricanes

The Storm has never been that intense or fast moving to begin with ( currently moving at only 5mph ), with pressure around 983 MB. In fact, it has spent most of its time thus far as a TROPICAL STORM with winds below 74 MPH, than as a Hurricane. It's what has the potential to happen once it...

9.1 Million Barrel Build in Crude Oil. Wow. Get The Hell Out.

When volatility increases, you are suppose to cut down your SIZE and reduce your risk. I believe that you did not take this key money management issue into consideration.

Dow Industrials will be the poster child for Republicans

Makes total sense. According to your logic, the REPUBLICANS created the Sub-Prime mess to make sure that a Democrat gets elected President.
