No, but with the LIGHT volume you would think that many have taken the day off. In any event, there are some decent moves in this rally up off the 2:18PM low in the SPY at 84.42

Dow at 8326- Is non-farms already priced in?? (your view)

I have noticed that you have made similar posts before when you were discussing your crude oil trades . . . as you were unable to DISCOUNT the actual occurrence of the Hurricanes that impacted the market. You seem to still have the same problem. You are unable to accept that the markets (...

Dow at 8326- Is non-farms already priced in?? (your view)

Don't be so ignorant. But I guess you weren't around for the "plunge" that took place yesterday in NY after 2PM. that took the Dow down 300 at one point in the last hour of the session.

Just what kinds of conditions and rumors did the hedge-funds create to cause panic and mass selling? Please be specific.

    rumour leading to yesterday's selloff

Feel free to look up the "Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000" which came from a group of Republican reps and senators ( Ewing, Bliley, Combest, Leach, Lugar, Fitzgerald, Gramm, Hagel, etc. ) It allowed for the likes of Enron to trade power contracts un-regulated with no accounting...

    rumour leading to yesterday's selloff

How about this for a benchmark . . . The yield on the Dow Jones Industrial Average is now greater than the yield on the 10-year Treasury ( 2.72 ) for the first time in 50 years. Meanwhile, we had just about the worst economic news that you can think of ( ISM at 37.3, Beige Book, 250,000...

    rumour leading to yesterday's selloff

Do you even know what you are talking about when it comes to the use of LEVERAGE in the equity market? Please feel free to let us know how an equity based hedge-fund would be able to LEVERAGE their equity positions > 2:1?

Let's recap today's action: First move off the opening was from 83.15 SPY up to 86.95 Adding the 3.80 to the 2PM "Beige Book" low at 83.90 gave you a measured-move A-B-C target of: 87.70 Got that right before the close. ( 87.83 actual ) Bingo!

Most of the money that gets put to work ( or pulled out of the market ) is done by program trading. It's simply a way for mutual funds and hedge-funds to buy/sell large baskets of stock. It is a "method". Thus, there is no indicator for this. Either the Fund has a broker act as an "agency"...

Just retraced .786% of today's rally. Time for the BEIGE BOOK! We'll probably "bounce" off the negative report, which finally highlighted weakness in the mining and commodity industry sectors.

The Port Authority of NJ received ZERO bids for $300mm in paper . . . Commodity stocks have rolled-over out of their oversold bounce . . . Crude is unchanged. 84.60 SPY was .618% retracement on the day. Currently: 84.25

    UBS make ridiculous market prediction

I understand what you are saying. In my opinion, the big problem with such a philosophy is that we are having "counter-trend" moves that are significantly tradeable . . . there are incredible percentage moves out there that are occurring on a daily and multi-daily basis that are tremendous...

The SPY's came off hard from that re-test of the high at 86.95 just before 12 Noon Eastern and crapped-out all the way to 85.55 They retraced exactly .618 on a bounce and are now continuing to trade lower in "grinding" fashion. Should be interesting to see if they can hold that 85.55 area...
