There are a ton of knockoffs out there with mechanical movements. They typically have a short life however.

Someone with an investor mindset trying to communicate with a trader (speculator) is like a Navajo trying to communicate with a Hindu.

Actually tho JR, an automatic (mechanical jeweled self-winding movement) does tick although it may be subtle. It's a quartz movement that is perfectly smooth.

What qxr said plus a trader should be ambivalent about going long or short but simply take signals according to a tested and defined trade plan and manage those speculations according to the rules of that plan.
