I'm not complaining, because it's very hard to fully trust myself when only trading 1 lot. I've seen internal support levels act as a trampoline on CL and really believed there'd be a decent re-shortable bounce there.

Good lord, I can hear F11 whining at me already...

SH @ 85.16 (and yes my stop's at b/e, Sal) Edit: BTW, I'm targeting 84.85 if not stopped out first Stop to 85.10 (tick above new resistance) OK, I couldn't hold on, took profits @ 84.95 because of that previous support @ .92 that seems to be holding.

Why do you think it will sell down to 1100 in the next few days? Retail sales are smokin' comps to last year, and the market doesn't care much about jobs or Greece anymore. Institutional long positions are happily in a strong, long uptrend and won't sell off until the trend breaks. I think later...

Yeah shorted the close, took 3.5. Just shorted 1174 off the open.

Thanks, ammo. I wasn't getting much out of shorting breakdowns lately, so I shorted the upper Keltner line, worked like a charm

Before I went to bed, targeted 1171.75, trailed a 3 pt stop. Oh so close...

Are these those lines you pull out your ass, like Lescor does? :D

OK, that's funny! I shorted ES @ 1179 right after the close (because you did, hee hee). Is it safe to have a stop in after hours trading on this thing, or will I be consumed by slippage on a random 20 pt spike?

How I stopped making the same mistakes in 2010 and started to make more money

Actually a batch of day traders doesn't move the market as much as we day traders like to think, so I don't believe traders sharing their edges somehow removes their edges, unless they're participating in some quirky trading method with thinly traded stocks. Institutional/hedge fund buying...

    CL Redux

First of all, price had previously double-bottomed (85.78 and 85.80 pivots, both higher than the pre-market low), after a decent wash-out on volume, meaning the serious sellers pretty much sold for the time being. I took my trade to the short side based on resistance at the now-falling 20-bar...

    CL Redux

I'm aware that I do move my stop pretty quickly usually as soon as 8-10 ticks profit show. But my goal is definitely to jump back in if the setup remains valid. I'm still struggling with the transition from $40-$80 max stops with stocks to $100-$200 on 1 lot CL. It's still a bit of a mental...

    Trader P/L 2010

+$603 All trades completed by 11:40am (oh so sadly). After returning from a long lunch to catch some closing action, I found I missed a good week's pay worth of action. Now that I'm actually trading CL, my "no trades after 11:30" rule is over; that thing moves even when it doesn't! Today...

I will confirm this. I shorted 3 or 4 breakdowns of range lows lately and the most any of them moved was 4 pts. (Though I wish I'd been around for today's breakdown, all the good stuff happens without me.)

    CL Redux

Old Rule: No trades after 11:30am New Rule: Cancel Old Rule immediately. I left for a long leisurely lunch and thought I'd catch a nice end of day move before the close, and damn! I know it means little to post my blotter after the fact, but I'm so happy to at least be trading live :)...
