    CL Redux

I'm glad my voice kept you from targeting 10 ticks profit, because today 10 ticks was like 1 tick on a normal day and 20 ticks was just noise

    CL Redux

This price action has slowed to crawl. I've no idea how to trade this :D

I miss those trend line arguments :p

I just figured it out, too, it was the lower channel line. I haven't drawn TL's or channels today, just trading off S/R and mojo on the 1-min chart.

You got THAT right! What was 93.82 other than the low of the 10:54am ET bar on the 3-min chart? Was there any other reason for buyers stepping in there with such frenzy?

    ES Journal Archive (2011)

I announced my "Close But No Cigar Market Calls" subscription service last week over on CL Redux. Only $19.95 a month. :p (Of course the day ain't over, and we can generally expect emg's pending order to be missed by 2 ticks...)

Guys, the 1-min chart is letting you in with acceptable stops. Ignore the price noise and wait for the follow through. The follow through is great today. EDIT: I'm stepping away from my desk now...

If you're trading in the direction of the trend, the proper response to that move is, "Yippee!"

No, CL lives in a cave far from civilization. It answers to no index!

Definitely allow 10-15 ticks before moving to b/e. Anything less is brief noise today.

The 1-min chart has been excellent for me today.

I have both threads up and mis posted it. I think ES has enough action today that they're not forced to trade this monster :D

    z, you're still alive! :p

    CL Redux

For anyone who cares, I'm cross-referencing all three of my time frames and using 20-tick initial stops to accommodate the volatility. I had one trade earlier run nearly 20 ticks my way and stop me out b/e in about 30 seconds

BAR BY BAR -- Al Brooks

I had no idea there was this long-running Al Brooks thread! Gabfly, you are reading those quotes without having experienced what's being described. Brooks is brilliant, but you don't realize it until you experience what he describes, until you're the trapped trader, until you chop...

    Working on Consistent Profitability

This sentence defines your disconnect. You DO trust yourself and your own actions. You're not doing the opposite of what you trust; you're doing exactly what you trust yourself to do, over and over again. What you do NOT trust is your ability to recognize a valid setup, put on the trade...

    CL Redux

I've been in this situation when I traded stocks. I had an already-losing short position on a stock that gapped up right after the market closed on a piece of news that didn't fundamentally affect the bigger picture, but the gap placed price outside my disaster stop risk parameter. So there I...

    Working on Consistent Profitability

Right, this is the core of successful trading! You have to keep doing the thing that gives you the edge; once you pick and choose, or stop managing trades according to rules, you ruin the edge. A trader whose trading is influenced by ego will feel stupid for buying a high tick or selling a...
