Trading/Office Chair For Long Hours At The Screen....

What's that, "race car" trading? I'll bet they win all of the "office chair races". :)

Trading/Office Chair For Long Hours At The Screen....

Some reviewers have complained about the "hard rim" around the mesh seat. The Equa 2 has a padded seat, so doesn't have that issue. The Aeron is no longer "king of the mountain" (though still a very good choice)... Aeron and Equa were "tops" in their day.

Trading/Office Chair For Long Hours At The Screen....

The hydraulics of my 10-yr old Herman Miller Equa 2 chair seemed to have broken down, so I went looking for a replacement. Thought I'd gladly buy another one of these if they were still made... but not. (Amazingly, the seat, back, and arm rests show virtually no wear after 10 years of daily...

The Incredible Shrinking of Hedge Funds

Market success is sporatic and fleeting... even for the supposedly "best" of players. The market is not only "tricky", it's also more of a "50-50 proposition all around" than traders hope. Not only do the majority of trader gains come from ~20% of their trades, the majority of career $$$ made...

Einhorn fund down nearly 28% for first 11 months of 2018

Agree. You can't be hedged all the time, but if you've got positions which are difficult to unwind (size/liquidity), you can hedge them temporarily and limit future losses while things sort out. "Offsetting positions" may not be a "no brainer"... especially if your theme is waaaayyyy wrong...

A lot of truth in that.

Other than potentially crashing an airplane and killing hundreds of people... pretty funny.

Einhorn fund down nearly 28% for first 11 months of 2018

Most hedge funds play "themes"... like "oil up" or "RE down". They don't really "trade" all that much. When their theme disappoints, they usually hold on.. maybe average down. And if it turns out they were waaayyy off in their theme, they take big losses. Not all that uncommon, actually...

Ocasio-Cortez Likens Her Election Win to Historic Moon Landing

The Poker Aces Playing a Key Hand in the $5 Trillion ETF Market

You need to be "some kind" of smart to be a surgeon, rocket scientist, et al. No correlation to poker there either.

Ted Cruz Predicts ‘Anger And Rage’ May Lead To Impeachment

“Today is a deeply divided time. There’s an anger. There’s a rage that I think isn’t healthy.” Republican Sen. Ted Cruz told students Thursday that Democrats might move to impeach President Donald Trump now that “some of the angriest voices on the left” have been elected to the House of...

In a Bad Year for Hedge Funds, These Are the Worst Performers

The market has a way of making a monkey out of even those who appear to be the most brilliant and most successful. Best not to ever get too cocky over one's own success. (It may be temporary.) KISS, as always... with stops.

In a Bad Year for Hedge Funds, These Are the Worst Performers

Years ago there was a story about a big-time hedge fund manager... If I recall correctly it was Julian Robertson. He had a very good year by being, "long our best 100 picks for the upside, and short our best 100 picks for the downside". That is, he was truly acting as a "hedge" fund. Most...

Nov 29, 2018 7:05 AM Germany Doubles Payout To Migrants Who Agree To Leave The Country

Seems like a weak assumption. They "encouraged them to come in", didn't they? How smart was that? They now recognize it was FUCKING STUPID... and are willing to pay them to go away. DUH!! I hope America is paying attention..

    4x4k displays embedded GPU

No worries. If AMD's chip is a success, Intel will soon be along with their similar version. But nobody has to "upgrade to the most recent chip/mobo". If their rig is older, all they need to do is buy an appropriate video card.

    4x4k displays embedded GPU

Anybody could try this out. If not satisfactory, there are 4-port, 4k video cards from both AMD and Nvidia for ~$200-ish.

Do you think the markets are nearing a bottom?

No, I agree. The market is bound by the range established early in the year. Until that range is broken and the break is maintained, it's all just a guess. (Doesn't mean there is no money to be made, you know. Buy the bottom of the range, sell the top of the range... lots of noise between.)
