Equity futures taken to the woodshed! **Market Crash Alert**

Down .75% is the woodshed? LOL. Time for you to go back to the yahoo message boards: http://finance.yahoo.com/mb/spy/

Its been so so long traders can hardly remember fear

OK, let me rephrase what I said. Since "I" view vol as an output vs input and I analyze the market through it's input variables and not it's output variables, I don't make predictions on the market based on a "VIX" reading. I was not trying to define vol but rather vol's role in my analysis...

Its been so so long traders can hardly remember fear

Vol is endogenous. In other words, other variables are inputs into the vol output. If you want to look "forward", you have to analyze the inputs, not the outputs. So no, I don't think a 14 vix is telling me to buy the market. The 14 vix is telling you what you "should" have done to get at...

Its been so so long traders can hardly remember fear

There is plenty of fear in this market. Fear of missing the upside move. That's a real issue. For most traders, opportunities lost hurts as much as capital lost. Both are economic costs.

I've said this many times but I'll say it again, if most traders spent half the time they use towards complaining about vendors, message boards, brokers, etc towards becoming a better trader, they would be far more profitable. Such a wasteful allocation of valuable time.

    Bright checking in.

Damn Don. ICU is not good. I have a parent that has been in and out of the hospital the last 6 months including the ICU and the ER. Also A-fib issues as well. I've probably logged in over 100 hours in the hospital the last few months so I know what you're going through. Modern medicine is...

    Big Move Monday?

Tempting to sell? On what planet? Let me make sure I heard this right? You are saying that earning $5, yes not even the price of a value meal at McDonalds and tieing up thousands in margin is tempting? The same thousands that could be deployed elsewhere and earning a return greater then...

    Short NFLX anyone ?

Don't take it personally, You just made a bad trade and it's why you are in the red today. That's what I love about this business. There is no need to "debate". Your p&l is giving you the answer.

Nobody is saying that. There are 100's of mental disorders out there. And they ALL affect trading. And having extreme ups and downs is NOT what bi-polar disorder is. That is a symptom. They are not mutually exclusive.

    Short NFLX anyone ?

Why in the hell would anyone short this stock? And even better, short it based on the most obvious trading pattern known to man. Come on guys, put in some work here. Get the elbows dirty. Threads like this is what makes ET look like a Yahoo stock message board.

Yes the medications can help many. For some though the very illness can keep them from "wanting" to take them. I've had to deal with that a lot with a family member. It sounds like your case is maybe mild to moderate. For severe cases, trading is not even possible.

You bring up an excellent point and one that rarely gets mentioned. I'm know bi-polar disorder well as it's in my family. Jesse Livermore suffered from it as well and ultimately killed himself because of it (a common fate with those who have the disorder). Millions are inflicted with this...

How profitable are the traders and coaches at tst ?

Do you think that has anything to do with all the trolls who infest those threads? It's a rhetorical question btw.

TOS laggy level 2 and tape quotes

There is a setting which controls your quote speed. TOS be defaults sets it at the lower moderate setting by default so you can go in there and change that.

    The ACD Method

There is the oil vix (OVX) which CD mentioned awhile back. I will admit I know nothing about it other then it exists. So not sure how it trades or what the mechanics are there but I imagine that might be an area of interest for you.

The failed Weekly A down next week would be one level and a re-test of the QTR A up or the monthly A up would be two more. The intra-day A down is 9483.

    The ACD Method

The monthly is off the board now since we are in the 2nd half of the month. I was referring to a confirm on the 30 day number line. Let me repeat what I said several pages back, a 30 day confirm does not mean you get long on the confirm. It's simply giving you the framework now to structure...

Crude Oil will most likely confirm tomorrow on the 30 day. I would not want to be short this.

    The ACD Method

The futures are the most efficient because you get margin relief. You can trade the ETF's though. USO for oil, UHG for heating oil and UGA for gasoline. But that way is more margin intensive.

No, not DX. I'm talking about following the risk around the world. You can get a great feel for risk appetite by watching where the money is flowing. Do you think it's a coincidence that the spoos are strong while the Aussie is catching a bid? Or the Peso which has been rocking to the...
