Ugh...no, episode one was NOT retail gamblers. We had two floor traders who probably make more on a bad day then you've made in your entire life. We had one of the largest HFT firms in Europe and a 200 million dollar hedge fund. So no, you "haven't" seen it. Move along now...
I've provided this list on ET before and I think you actually read it, but I'll mention some of the names again off the top of my head: Ronin, Geneva, Jump, TMG, Chopper, Hard Eight, M&N, Gelber, Tradelink, DRW.

Duration: 1 hour
Introducing the new breed of trader - the British men and women who play the financial markets from their kitchens, sofas and bedrooms. Thanks to online trading technology, anyone with an internet connection and...
Again, I have no idea where you are getting this from. There are too many guys on this site that ONLY watch the S&P 500 or only trade "big name" stocks. They have a very myopic view of the overall market. I mean we have the US Dollar (futures contract) put in the largest and strongest move...
So you have been selling USD/YEN since 105 or buying it? I assume you meant you have been buying USD/JPY from 105. And what does the shrinking economy have to do with the Yen? Their stock market is ripping. And what commodity are you referring to? Who controls what commodity? Honestly I...
Sorry, when I hear people whine I always assume they are a kid. And a little fyi, the Yen is at 109. And now a little advice, if you want to trade for a living, you better learn about ALL the markets. Otherwise your life's calling will be as a life insurance salesman.
Low volatility? Are you kidding me? Currencies haven't been this volatile since the credit crisis of 2008. Oil dropped 20 dollars a barrel in the last few months in a straight line. Sugar, cotton, grains getting decimated. Hell we just lost almost 5 handles in the 30 year in the last two...

Courtesy of Hoop121 for passing this along to me. This aired last week in the UK produced by the BBC. Part 2 will air next week. Great diversity of retail prop, floor trader...
1) There is no such thing as illegal leverage. Leverage is governed by the exchanges and the clearing firms.
2) Prop firms require "licensed" traders. Retail brokers do not. THAT is the difference.
3) Regulation costs are less. But it has nothing to do with leverage. The yearly...
You really want to focus on the big picture. Don't get caught up in which currency to be in. Right now USD/JPY is exploding. CAD/JPY even more so. Even EUR/JPY about to break out. I would steer clear of the GBP for awhile.
How are you hedging in your retail account? Let's use a dumb example. Say you are long AAPL in your prop account and short AAPL in your retail account. AAPL goes up 50%. But your prop firm blows up so that money is gone. Your retail account meanwhile is now down 50% on AAPL when you...
And btw, being a dick towards me is not the right move. I'm probably the only guy on this thread that has DONE all these things you are asking about. This was my business for 8 years.
What are you going to tell your investor if the prop firm blows up and 100% of his capital is gone? Do you want me to list ALL the prop firms that went belly up. It will take several pages. No, I don't think you have thought this through.
