    Is the bear over?

You make a very significant mistake in thinking that CNBC represents some sort of a "consensus" view on the markets. CNBC represents nothing. Absolutely nothing.

For those who don't have a clue

Excellent call! The market retraced 61.8% of the move up from 1200.44 to 1291.17 at yesterday's close. A measured-move targets a 91 handle move from yesterday's low . . . 1325. Excellent work!

    DOW to fall below 11k

And what "lesson" was that exactly? The part where you make a "call" on the market without providing any methodology whatsoever, let alone any discussion of technicals or take into consideration the "dovish" geopolitical comments out of Iran that put more downside pressure on Crude . . . or...

    Ewj: elliott wave

I really have no idea where we are in the EWT "forest". Perhaps a measured-move up to 1325 SPX ( 91 points )? Again, I have no clue at this point. P.S. It's amazing how we literally closed on the .618% retracement ( 1200.44 - 1291.17 ) yesterday and then exploded HIGHER this morning!

SG, Looks like you may have mistaken a "B" wave in IV as the top of 5. on your 5-minute chart. Just did a nice A-B-C down off of the V now. Welcome back Mup! Missed you Bro. :)

    Rebecca Darst........

She speaks a mile-a-minute and is super hyper - - - but very knowledgeable. Anyone interested in trading options needs to focus on "implied volatility" vs " historic volatility". If you don't, you can wind-up overpaying for an option because it was all pumped-up with "vol". Even with a...

The two finalists ( Ed and Dave ) look like they were separated at birth! And one of the guys just said that one of his trading rules was to stay away from earnings plays, and fade whatever John Najerian says something will go up! :D

    DOW to fall below 11k

You mentioned that one of the things that you look at is geopolitical risk. Obviously, this has a most significant effect on Crude Oil and the U.S. equity markets. Tell me, after Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was interviewed over the weekend with concilliatory and "dovish" comments (...

Why so many amateur traders trade only against the main trend?

Great post that reflects the logic that is often used by the "amateurish" trader. Unfortunately, INSTITUTIONS have a very powerful influence in the market. They have a tendency to push stock prices far beyond anyone's wildest dreams on the upside, and lower than anyone's perception of real...

    Ewj: elliott wave

I see an awful lot of "overlap" in the SPX chart, and because of that I can't even begin to entertain the idea that there have been any 1,2,3, 4's on the chart.
