    Buffett going 100% long stocks

With all due respect to poster "Cutten" his HEADLINE on this thread is pretty misleading . . . The fact of the matter is that this investment by Buffett is with his own personal account, AND he is not currently 100% long stocks, as the OP implies.

    False BOs

Options expirations have been pretty "quiet" over the past several years, but this one is one of the craziest VOL expy days I have seen in recent memory . . . The VOL in the coal stocks is insane! Check out BTU today on a 1-minute chart.

    BTU: Peabody

Just insane moves today!!! Let you in on the down opening at $27.50 and powered higher all the way up to $35.00 Just pulled all the way back to 32.70 with 75 minutes left in the session. Crazy VOLATILITY. Just insane!

    feels like a market meltup

Don't forget the super strong earnings in BTU yesterday . . . which is now lighting up the entire COAL sector, including the likes of laggard JOYG which obviously has been under pressure due to lack of financing for mining equipment. Lots of stocks being "pushed" through various strike prices...

Goldman Sachs Changes Oil Forecast From $200 to $50

Why do you CONSTANTLY harp on these so-called "predictions"? What good does it do you? How does it help you in your trading, after-the-fact? Your obsession with these forecasts is absolutely absurd. How cares??? Just TRADE the market action!!! Oh I forgot . . . You don't TRADE for a...

A second bite at the cherry

Crude now +$4.00 and providing a very "supportive" bid to the SPX. XOI and OIH powering higher. :)

You watch far too much TV.

    Ewj: elliott wave

CRUDE OIL is +$4.00 It has been creeping higher all session long, with a firm bid in Nat-Gas too . . . The OIH and XOI are pushing the SPX higher. Always have to watch the energy complex in relation to the SPX, in my opinion. :)

    feels like a market meltup

Crude oil has been creeping higher all day long . . . now +$3.70 and that is creating a lot of bids in the XOI and OIH. Nat-Gas and Coal stocks strong too. This provides a pretty good "bid" to the SPX. :)

Mortgage Rates going up +6.5% now

I take it that you haven't looked at the latest balance sheet from the Federal Reserve, numbers released as of yesterday?

Gold falls for seventh day on funds liquidation

Obviously, the DEFLATIONARY forces that have caused 1-month Tbills to go to 0.10% are more significant than any kind of rush into the gold market. Rather than continue making all of these "predictions" and posting one cut and paste article after another . . . why not simply REACT to what is...

    Warren Buffet will go broke

Agreed. It's almost as if these posts come from people that are simply trying to generate "web-traffic" on ET. They log onto ET between their college courses, during Summer vacation, Holidays, etc. and make some of the most absurd claims and statements - - - highly reflective of people that...

    Sad day for America

You are so caught up in "conspiracy" theories that you fail to understand that the BALANCE SHEET of the FED has literally doubled to $1.75 trillion dollars in the past month. Forget about PPT. Forget about futures market trades. Forget about all of your other absurd conspiracy theories . ...

this is like 1873, not 1929

Common knowledge. Nothing new here. Monetary policy was highly restrictive due to Federal Reserve Notes being partially backed by gold. When people converted these notes to gold in the panic - - - regulatory restrictions then kicked-in allowing for a reduction in money supply because it was...

Wait, does "tape reading" mean watching TaS? Or looking at price charts?

Excellent synopsis. In fact, during today's session you could tell that the broad market was acting with a "bid" in it and didn't need the oils to participate in order to rally. I always track the OIH and XOI to see how it relates to the SPX. More often than not, the SPX is unable to...

Options on the VIX expire next Wednesday. THAT, combined with tomorrow's equity-option expiration is "skewing" the VIX index.
