1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Duh. You would not have the growth in the financial service industry unless they could write-off interest expense immediately. It's ALL about the tax code my friend!

G.Bush ranked 36th out of the 42 Presidents

But hey, Condi Rice said that they could have "never imagined that terrorists would use Airplanes as weapons", just like Michael Brown of FEMA said " we could have never imagined that those levies would fail" . . . just as Dick Cheney remarked about the current financial crisis . . . "nobody...

DeFazio is a complete MORON. And don't even bother contacting his office . . . it is filled with 24 year old Interns that have absolutely ZERO clue about Economics. Been there, done that.

G.Bush ranked 36th out of the 42 Presidents

That's some pretty STRONG "Kool-Aid" that you've been drinking, eh AAA? Bush wasn't even President. Cheney did all of the "heavy-lifting" and Bush was his "puppet" . . . spending 25% of his Presidency on VACATION. Integrity and Maturity in the Bush Administration??? That's too funny...

G.Bush ranked 36th out of the 42 Presidents

You mean the way that John McCain said (18 times in 2008) that the "fundamental underpinnings of the Economy remain strong!" :D Too funny! :D The guy has only been in office for 3 weeks, and you already have him "failing miserably" . . . I guess Bush never "failed miserably" since he...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

And the reason that we have seen such GROWTH in the financial services industry is because of the tax code - - - which allows for interest expense to be written-off IMMEDIATELY. Meanwhile, our Manufacturing sector gets pushed to the back of the economic "bus" where any investment in capital...

Lack of scandals??? I guess trampling ALL over the U.S. Constitution and "cherry-picking" intelligence reports no longer qualifies as a scandal anymore . . . How pathetically sad.

    Kiss Your Job GoodBye

Agreed 100% Within 90 seconds of reading the Bill, you could see that it had to do with reigning in ICE and WTI trading without position limits over in Dubai and London, not too mention how the big banks have "gamed" the oil trading swap markets; characterized as commercials and hedgers, etc...

    Kiss Your Job GoodBye

Excellent point Guru. But there is far too much "fear-mongering" going on in this thread for anyone to actually take a deep breath and turn on their brains for a change. Quite typical of those who post here on ET, I might add.

    Kiss Your Job GoodBye

Agreed. There is so much "Gloom and Doom" and ignorant misinformation being spread on this thread, that one really wonders if any of these posters actually make money trading the markets.
