I believe the answer is yes. With-trend you target a new high or low beyond the previous one. You scale out part at that level or stay in the trade until the trend breaks down. RTM or counter-trend you need to take at least partial profits at the rising or falling 20-period MA. That's a magnet...

I agree, the market threw off a perfect long signal by way of a breakout from an ascending triangle. Held through the close, an amazing 11+ pt move, but I have a short bias in general. I'm at it again, I just shorted a while ago @ 1204.50, stop's now at 1204.25 and we'll see what transpires...

If you day trade, who cares? I made $1100 short dollars in 10 mins off the open. Then I had $1100 more showing in about 1 min before it whipped back (what was that 10:30 move all about???)

Took out .90, next stop 83.01. Those closes above the 20-bar MA held up well, but range is maddening.

NFLX is nice to trade, it has strong upside breakouts because of the short interest, and if it puts in a double top or a lower high after a strong run, it pulls back very nicely for a decent counter-trend play. I'm watching for that today.
