    Munger says Bitcoin is trash

    Ah, dear old Bristol.

    Munger says Bitcoin is trash

This is the heart of the crypto debate - at least for traders. We can trade trash, we can trade the future, we can even trade stuff that doesn't exist and maybe never will. Doesn't matter. What matters is make a profit and pass the parcel.

So if his analysis of the clouds was different he had a different plan for action based on the analysis. Like if you see a range and he sees a range and he plans to go short off the upper boundary and you plan to long the break-out through the upper boundary - same TA, same market, different plans.

Develop and follow a written trading plan

I love this comment. Probably not why you expect. My position is that 99% of all of us traders are left-brained. But about half of us don't like to recognise this in themselves. Abandoning the labelling "discretionary" trader seems to present a threatening loss of creativity and possibly...

Develop and follow a written trading plan

You must have a plan as to what you interpret, what you don't interpret at certain times, and how much weight you give your conclusions on each factor. To not have a plan would suggest you don't consider the same factors every time, or you weight them differently today from yesterday. Of course...

Develop and follow a written trading plan

If they trade differently off the same plan, its two different plans. Or else one doesn't have a plan at all?

Experience is crucial. But what factors has your experience identified as being important to a trading decision and how do you weight each?

Intuition is not joining two dots to make a line, that is logic. Intuition is taking one dot and making a line. Discretion is making a line out of "some" dots.

I don't go along with this. Gut, feeling, intuition and discretion are emotional responses to a situation. Along with a feeling in your water, or a vision, or that strange ache in the upper stomach when you're about to do something risky which you didn't think was risky. But if you can define...

Develop and follow a written trading plan

Three of the scariest words in trading - discretionary, gut, feeling. Funnily, they don't come up much in trading plans.

How to work towards going full time

It can be done, but the numbers of winners are so low, these could be just outliers surely? And I said "almost" impossible, as I know of winning daytraders myself.

How to work towards going full time

I keep hearing that its almost impossible to make a living wage by day-trading. Also that long-term traders make more money per year than day-traders. I am told daily that day-trading forex is suicide and the market is rigged. Day-traders say its a terrible, lonely, boring, mundane and badly...

Trading for a living & taxes in EU

UK - For the individual - If you trade via CFD's you would be liable for Capital Gains Tax (but only payable if profits exceed the annual 0% allowance). Traded and binary options would be regarded as financial investments and would need to be declared as personal income. For a business - If...

Trading for a living & taxes in EU

Day or any trading via spreadbetting is counted as gambling and the gains are therefore exempt from UK Income Tax. The tax authorities have said so repeatedly and over a long period to my knowledge. The story is they don't want to subject the winners to tax as then these same traders could claim...

Trading for a living & taxes in EU

Living off your own resources without claiming benefits, while still paying indirect taxation through everything you buy, still paying local taxation and also for so many government services, is something to be proud of. Recognise that the SB firms pay tax on their revenue so in that sense SB is...

Trading for a living & taxes in EU

Its been said before that spreadbetters winning a "living" must pay UK Income Tax. I can't recall any one of these traders coming forward and saying so on a forum. However, there have been posts on forums that I have seen in which a trader said he had attempted to be classed as professional by...
