The problem most free thinkers have I think is not with the idea of a higher power, but the way that higher power is presented. Actually, I was going to post that very thing, sans the liberals. You post only illustrates that like these man make things, the bible, while having great advice in it, is merely another man made object. Nothing divine about it.

I have seen it in every church, bible study group....anything having to do with the interpretation of the bible.

That's the point, only a non-thinking, non-critical mind could accept the bible prima facie. In fact, most Christian will go thru all kind of contortions to segregate some absurdities found there, such as the killing of children for insulting an old man.......
