I am a new trader with under $25,000 looking to day trade, what should I do to start?

"...[tomorton] No enterprise with a 90% failure rate and a 5 year start-up time (or 10,000 hours of learning or whatever way its put) is worth undertaking..." You are probably correct, but I wasn't referring only to day trading. If one knows how to day trade the SPX, one knows how to trade in...

Will indicating a retired in a margin application with Ameritrade get me rejected?

Shouldn't be a problem. Having assets more important than income. I've NEVER been "employed"... that is, receiving a W2 from an employer and have had no problem with establishing accounts with brokers.

WOLF VERSUS DOG - Who would win?

So are Huskies. Read a story years back about an experiment where researches released several breeds of dog into the city... trying to determine which would survive the best at securing shelter, food, and avoid being captured by the dog catcher. #1, Siberian Husky. It's said Huskies are the...

Democrat compares migrant caravan to Jews fleeing Nazi Germany.

Include her with Cummins and Waters... and you've got "three peas in a pod".

Automated Trading Robots -- LIVE Demo Wednesday, Nov. 28

Of course they are... no "discipline" issues. But can you get them to do what you want? (Probably "yes" if you can put enough time, effort and money into it.) But that doesn't necessarily mean "anything you can get them to do will be good/effective". It's every trader's dream to "automate...

Democrat compares migrant caravan to Jews fleeing Nazi Germany.

She's likely to become a DemoCrap party leader. (Millennials will soon overtake the Boomers as the largest demographic. They're more likely to vote for somebody "their age" rather than that old hag Pelosi.) Stupid as she is, young and equally stupid DemoCrap voters will ring with her...

I am a new trader with under $25,000 looking to day trade, what should I do to start?

Understandable that you want to "get involved in trading and make the big bucks"... ASAP, of course. But to make money trading in the markets and not lose your ass, you need to be SHARP and disciplined. Likely you are not ready to succeed at this time. It's not important that you "trade"...

Intel: US Army Reports Millions Of Illegals Set To Invade US Via UN Funded Caravans

"...Maximum Alert US Border Overrun By Paramilitary UN Forces..." IF there is any truth to this, Trump should immediately cut off all US funding to the UN... and perhaps even go so far as to withdraw our US membership. :( https://www.infowars.com/

Why are there hedge funds that specialise only in oil but not in other asset classes?

Could be because oil/energy has pizzazz. People don't think about the price of sugar or wheat much, but they see a reference to oil/gasoline many times per day. (??)

How can this oil hedge fund giant lose so much when October was an easy short trade?

There is a potential problem with playing "too much size" for a market. Then again, he could have hedged his position in the oil futures market. He could have done a few things other than "just hold" or "average down". That said, it's easy to screw up in trading also.

How can this oil hedge fund giant lose so much when October was an easy short trade?

I doubt they have good stop discipline, either. He obviously didn't. Just like the NatGas fund a few years back.

How can this oil hedge fund giant lose so much when October was an easy short trade?

I doubt many hedge fund guys are very good at technical trading. They mostly trade a "theme". His apparently was, "oil market going higher". IOW... he had the "wrong bias". Such is not an uncommon occurrence.

American't: From Midterms To End Times -- Selwyn Duke

"...The so-called Left, ever violent since its French Revolution birth and as power hungry as ever, wholly controls the culture: the media, mainstream and social; academia; and entertainment. This means it controls long-term politics, since the latter is downstream of culture. So is big...

Is paper trading a waste of time or does it yield benefits?

Suggest (1) do your back-testing, THEN (2) paper trade what seems to work. If your paper trading works, then trade real money... but small at first. When you're confident you can handle the "rough spots"*, then you can play bigger. *Wouldn't get too enamoured if you're doing well. The test...

WorldQuant’s New Fund Said to Lose 9.5% as Chaos Smashes Algos

Seems to me Fed policy has been based upon something other than "how much volatility the market can absorb".

Migrant Caravan Reaches Border, Planning “Human Stampede”

"...Obama-era judge determines caravan poses no threat..." https://www.infowars.com/watch-live-migrant-caravan-reaches-border-planning-human-stampede/ What if Trump decides, "FU, Odumbo Lefty Judge"... and defies his court order in the name of "national secrutiy"? Personally, I'd like to see...

Michelle Obama: Before I was 1st lady, a lot of people didn't know what a black woman looked like

Maybe that's a typo. What she really meant instead was... "black tranny". The Obamas... totally wortless POSs just like the Clintons and Bush clan. :)

    Choosing a Risk Model

I'm a lonnnng time trader. And in my view the only objective ANY trader should pursue is this... "Try to risk a little with the reasonable expectation/hope of making a lot". (More difficult than it sounds.) FWIW....
