I don't know about "coding". There are various levels of breakouts which you can determine "on the fly"... but there are enough of them I can't see being able to code them. The notion of "trading the high/low of the last 20 candles breakout" seems like it would be doable, but that's way late...

Yes, you should enter immediately on the breakout... but "which" breakout? You should forget about the "high of the past 20 candles". If you're looking at that, you're already waaaay late.

If you're buying/selling at/after a close... of the day or of a bar... you're already late. There is no such thing as "confirmation", so why wait for a "close"? (Fudge... hmmmm.... is that like a sweet chocolate treat or "fudging your huggies"?)

I love to bitch about "volume" when I get the chance... like now. Significant highs/low/breakouts can occur on low or high volume. That only speaks to "the minute". Chasers think/hope it speaks to the future/follow through. It doesn't. Even at its "apparent best", volume is a LAGGING...

Last I checked, which was quite a while ago, the $$ volume handle of the big pit contract was only about 1/10 the $$ volume of the ES. May be even less than that now. That being the case, no real or economic reason to keep the SP pit contract. Even the ES seems to have "fallen from favor"...
