    There is a difference between non-intervention and isolation. A very large difference. Ron Paul had many flawed ideas - and in the end, he was just another career politician - but isolationism is not an accurate representation of his stated policies.

    Then why bet against it? The Dow is a simple index with many trading vehicles - if you "know" how one component will move relative to the rest, it's straightforward to construct a composite trade to take advantage of it.

    That *should* be happening. The existence of "little-guy retail liquidity" is an historical aberration made possible by occasional step functions in technology. Once the transformation is done, it naturally goes away.
