Math involved in calculating range to frequency ratio of trade ?

It will be a function of volatility, in the trading-range sense. But volatility is often not price-directional. Nor is it constant between trading sessions, or even in trading sessions. The math isn't that hard, you just have to work through it.

Damn you, out of sample trades!

I have a better idea - since this is your system, how about you do the leg work? :) Good luck.

Damn you, out of sample trades!

Yep, coupled with your (relatively) wide stop, this will indeed generate very high hit rates with random entries.

Damn you, out of sample trades!

No trouble at all. Pretty much any system with small profit targets and wide stops - sound familiar? :) - will score very high win rates with randomized entry points. This is true for both long and short positions. The entries can be randomized in pretty much any conceivable way - random price...

Damn you, out of sample trades!

No, I don't accept that as correct. "Nearly everyone" does not agree with that statement, and in fact the statement is incorrect, as it is trivially easy to create systems with very high win rate using completely random entries.

GPU Computing (Possibly the Tesla or Quardo 4000)

Ah, sounds like Tesla. For your first time out, honestly, I'd just grab that and go. There's a huge learning curve to doing this effectively, it'll really help to go with something used by (relatively) lots of people. These things are all over fintech - believe me, CUDA/OpenCL are no...

Men, Women, Divorce, and Trading in 2012

If you want to make that choice, then make that choice. But it is an abdication of responsibility by every measure that makes us human, plain and simple. It is also extremely short sighted, as familial groups (tribes, if you like) are far stronger than individuals.

What happened to responsibility and raising the next generation? At some point, shouldn't those considerations enter the picture as well?

Debt and Pay - There Has to be a Balance.

I think maybe you're reading more into it than is actually there. :) I'm "fatalistic" about this in the same way I'm "fatalistic" about the sun going down tonight. Life is good. Let's all enjoy it.

Taking advantage of this low vol?

What do you mean? It can fall a lot lower, yet. That said, I'm actively laying out bait. First batch went out in the spring, that was good, I expect this batch to be better...eventually. :) Patience is a virtue.
