How do you get over the fear of increasing position size?

What instruments do you trade? And what is your average yearly return? I don't use margin.

How do you get over the fear of increasing position size?

Going big on a let's say 90% probability trade and making 10k is better than making $100 on 100 lower probability trades. Because the more often you enter and exit the market the more risk you take on in terms of slippage, execution errors etc. The more selective the better.

How do you get over the fear of increasing position size?

I guess this is a question of quantity vs quality in terms of growing your account. I feel going big on a few quality trades is better than taking a large number of small position sized trades.

How do you get over the fear of increasing position size?

I had a good trading day today. However my position size was $3k. I was told to go big on high probability trades. I have more than 50k in my account that is waiting to be used. This is not margin. However, I keep telling myself I will go bigger on the next trade. Would love to hear how others...

Thank you for your feedback. Yes I think it is fear which comes from not enough practice and not enough trust in myself. Like when I first learnt to drive I was pretty sure I would have an accident. I have been driving for over 10 years now and not a single accident. All the while I have become...

How are chart patterns like flags formed?

I am just curious about the "why" and the "how" of chart patterns that's all. Take traffic for example. Traffic stops at a light or stop sign due to certain rules imposed. So that is deliberate.

How are chart patterns like flags formed?

I know they are consolidation patterns. My question is are they deliberately created? That is is an institution deliberately buying an selling in quick succession so as to create a flag formation? If you say it is not deliberate then I am surprised that people are dumb enough to sell during a...

How are chart patterns like flags formed?

I guess this is a chicken or the egg question. But are chart patterns formed intentionally or unintentionally? Do institutions buy and sell in a fashion that creates a flag for example so as to signal to other traders. Or are patterns formed unintentionally?

I learnt a few lessons today: #1 Don't post during the market session. There is no time for analysis during trading hours. #2 Don't dwell on a bad trade. If I do then I will miss other potential good trades in the process. If I miss one, I need to move on to the next. #3 I need to have skin...

Week 1 Day 3 : +1% Not a good start. I hold the belief that a small gain is better than a small loss. So I exited the trade as soon as I had a small gain. In reality the stock is still going higher as I type this. I exited too early and left profits on the table. I need to learn that no risk no...
