Welcome on board I think there is no real alternative but as discussed you should consider opening an additional account in a reliable firm so you don't have to rely on "TOS" alone

Never tried negotiating with them about commissions because it seems like a low and fair fee. I think it includes the exchange fee and if I remember correctly they don't charge a commission for getting assigned, Exercise is 0.01$ per share. There is a 10$ fee if you don't trade 10 contracts in...

I checked earlier today with Trade King and they told me they don't negotiate fees. Option Express, Option House, Trade Monster too expensive as well (I covered all of TOS's runner-ups for option trading in the 2011 barron's broker review) in the end, after everything said, I will stay with TOS...

Even iPhone app and TDA website trading don't work. getting my quotes from yahoo! like in 2003 when I just got started. I cant believe I closed my MB Trading account this week...

when TOS were TDA-free and something went wrong (rarely!), they would at least put a notification on the software that there is an issue. now? as you said, nothing. really sucks.

Yes. Its happening every morning. for a whole hour or so I cant see charts, Quotes are frozen and trades take ages to submit. The iPad app doesn't work at all since the last update so its a real bummer.

Using it for a while, its pretty good. I like Dan Sheridan's video posts on CBOE TV available on app and on their website.

Need to wait a long time from the moment I hit send to an oeder until it gets the actual "working" status. sometimes up to about a minute. Has anyone experience this issue since TDA take over?

If you don't mind opening an account with another broker so TD AMERITRADE (thinkorswim) is second to none when it comes to option software. And you won't need to pay for maintenance

In 9 out of 10 cases they would be right, option purchase really isn't great. Unless you are hedging the underline or have excellent prediction and timing skills. I admit, I suck in both no matter how much TA I practice but I still profit more then the average buyer. Wish you a successful week

Cool. It was a good month for these type of spreads. In 'usual' months I guess you would be more theta conservative. I hope.
